Overwatch 2 is giving away two free Loot Boxes, one of which contains a guaranteed Epic, as part of a Twitch Drop campaign to celebrate the release of its mid-Season 16 update. From now through June 1, players who watch five hours of any Overwatch 2 streamers on Twitch can add these Loot Boxes to their inventories without even playing the game.

The mid-Season 16 update for Overwatch 2 has officially arrived, bringing with it a slew of balance adjustments, the beginning of both the Street Fighter 6 collab and an Overwatch Classic event, and the addition of Freja to Stadium. This patch marks the halfway point between Seasons 16 and 17, with the latter scheduled to arrive on June 24.

As it often does for major seasonal and midseason updates, Overwatch 2 has begun a new Twitch Drop campaign, but this time, the rewards are a little different from usual. Fans who watch five hours of any Overwatch 2 streamers on Twitch before June 2 can earn both a normal and an Epic Loot Box. Together, these items will unlock eight cosmetics for the player’s account, the latter of which will contain at least one guaranteed Epic drop.

How to Get Overwatch 2 Mid-Season 16 Twitch Drops

  • Connect one’s Twitch and Battle.net accounts
  • Watch any Twitch channel playing Overwatch 2 from now through June 1, 11:58 PM PT to earn the following rewards:
    • 2 hours: Loot Box
    • 5 hours: Epic Loot Box
  • Once complete, claim rewards from the Twitch Drops inventory
  • Loot Boxes will automatically appear in Overwatch 2

Most of these Twitch Drop campaigns provide old shop skin bundles or brand-new skins, such as the Ice Princess Symmetra cosmetics from the launch of Overwatch 2 Season 16. However, it seems the mid-Season 16 Drops are following in the footsteps of the mid-Season 15 campaign by offering Loot Boxes, though instead of offering five normal ones, fans can get an illusive Epic Loot Box. Players can look forward to unlocking several new cosmetics for their account, without anyone encountering a Twitch Drop featuring a skin they already purchased from the shop in the past.

Fans looking to pick up even more items can do so via three different in-game events right now. By completing various in-game challenges, gamers can earn several sprays, voice lines, and a player title from the Overwatch 2 x Street Fighter 6 collab, player icons, a weapon charm, and a second Epic Loot Box via the Overwatch Classic event, and a third Epic Loot Box via a new quest added to the season-long Stadium: Initiation event. Considering players get a guaranteed Legendary item by opening four Epic Loot Boxes, fans should make sure to collect all of these special items.
