Overwatch 2 is a live-service game, meaning new additions are consistently added with each Competitive Season. These changes range from Battle Pass themes, hero skins, limited-time game modes, crossover events and collaborations, new mechanics, Mythic skins and weapons, and, of course, a series of seasonal collectibles.

Aside from the fun of simply playing the game, Overwatch players also love to collect hero skins and profile cosmetics that feature their mains or most-favored characters. From Twitch drops and battle pass or shop skins to more rare and special variants such as Mythic Skins, OWL, and Champions skins, there are plenty of cosmetics for players to acquire and enjoy showing off in-game. As of Overwatch 2's Season 13, a new collectible item named Mythic Aspects has been introduced. If you're wondering exactly what these collectibles are and how they can be obtained, you can find all the relevant information in the guide below.

What Are Mythic Aspects In Overwatch 2?

Mythic Aspects ow2

In Overwatch 2, Mythic Aspects are a new form of collectible that can be found inside of the Mythic Shop. Essentially, Mythic Aspects are additional customization options that can be purchased for Mythic Skins that you own, enabling bonus Tiers that can be unlocked with the use of Mythic Prisms after you have already unlocked all previous Tiers of that same skin.

The first set of Mythic Aspects seen in the game as of the beginning of Season 13 is the Gilded style, which has also been referred to as Gilded Aspects. This offers an additional black and gold color palette option for every current and previous Mythic hero skins — including Spellbinder Widowmaker.

Mythic Prisms can be purchased by opening the Mythic Shop and scrolling down to the Aspects section of the store page, which will have all available options ready for preview and purchase by simply clicking on the tab for the Hero you wish to purchase it for. Every Mythic (Gilded) Aspect can be purchased for 20 Mythic Prisms each (which gives players another option for spending Mythic Prisms they earn through the Premium Battle Pass) or purchase in the Overwatch Store with real currency.

What Are Mythic Prisms Used For?

With the addition of the Mythic Aspects collectible item, there are now three different ways in which players can choose to spend their Mythic Prisms:

  1. Unlocking Tiers of Mythic hero skins that are available in the Mythic Shop
  2. Purchasing Mythic Weapons and Mythic Weapon Tiers to unlock features such as inspects and kill animations
  3. Additional Mythic skin styles through Aspects

For now, the Gilded style is the only Mythic Aspect available in Overwatch 2. However, it seems more styles will be added as more Competitive Seasons continue to roll out in the game.
