The new Haunted Masquerade mode in Overwatch 2 Season 19 has a secret Lupa Mask that teases Hero 45. Players can find this hidden mask outside their spawn points in Overwatch 2 and wear it to get a sneak preview of the She-Wolf that stalks into the hero shooter in Season 20.
Overwatch 2 Season 19 just dropped on October 14, adding three new heroes, a map, and Gadgets to Stadium, along with a refresh of the Battle Pass, and more. One of the most exciting parts of this update is the Haunted Masquerade, a new Halloween Terror game mode in which heroes don masks of other characters to gain special powers, including some team-up bonuses when choosing combinations associated with their backstory.

Secret Overwatch 2 Hero 45 Mask in Haunted Masquerade
However, there is a secret hidden in the Haunted Masquerade mode in Overwatch 2 that gamers won’t want to miss. Outside the spawn point, usually somewhere near the objective, fans can find the Lupa Mask, featuring a dark silhouette of the new hero's face with a question mark. Equipping this mask grants players increased movement and attack speed after dealing melee or ability damage, and features the flavor text, “The she-wolf watches.” OW2 player Dani captured an image of the mask, sharing it on an Overwatch Cavalry Twitter post. Additionally, a Weapon Charm version of this mask can be obtained by completing 10 of the event challenges.
Judging from the mask’s ability, Hero 45 will likely focus on melee and ability damage, and may have a passive or active skill that grants movement and attack speed.
Blizzard has not been subtle with its references to the final hero of 2025. Though she was not formally revealed during the Overwatch 2 Spotlight event, fans found a cartoonish drawing of her in the background all the same. Combined with test files, doodads in Arena Victoriae referring to the “She-Wolf of Retribution,” a cameo in Ramattra’s recent Overwatch 2 comic, and a brief visual teaser of her sandals and voice at the end of Season 19’s trailer, players are starting to get a good picture of this character.
Were that not exciting enough, Overwatch 2 associate game director Alec Dawson spoke with esports.gg about the new narrative viewer feature coming in mid-Season 19. According to Dawson, Hero 45 “will play quite a role in that story as well,” which potentially corroborates the massive Overwatch 2 plot leaks pertaining to the new character and Talon.
Regardless, players won’t have to wait long to find out. Hero 45 is set to arrive in Season 20 on December 9, but her hero trial will be taking place on or around the mid-Season 19 update. Fans can likely expect the official reveal of the mysterious She-Wolf, plus her full kit and backstory, some time in November.
