Summary

  • Season 14 will bring a new skin for Venture in Overwatch 2, but fans are disappointed by the long wait.
  • Venture currently has limited skin options, with most being basic re-colors, except for the Ice Cream skin.
  • Overwatch 2 Game Director promises an "exciting skin" for Venture in Season 14, sparking mixed reactions from fans.

Blizzard has confirmed that Overwatch 2's Venture is getting a "really exciting skin" in Season 14, but fans aren't happy about having to wait so long to get it. Overwatch 2 added Venture in Season 10, with the Damage hero's unique move-set quickly making them a favorite in the community. However, Overwatch 2 Venture players have been generally underwhelmed by their skin selection since their Season 10 debut.

At the time of this writing, Venture has seven skins, with six of these being basic re-colors of their default look. The only Venture skin of note is the Ice Cream skin, which dresses them up as an ice cream parlor employee and turns their drill into an ice cream cone. There are no new major skins on the way for Venture in Season 12, and it looks like fans shouldn't hold their breath for Season 13 bringing anything all that worthwhile to the table either.

Overwatch 2 game director Aaron Keller recently took to Twitter to address the lack of quality Venture skins in the hero-shooter. Keller said that the team also wants Venture to have "amazing skins" and while he can't share too much right now, "a really exciting skin" is on the way for Venture in Season 14. On one hand, Overwatch 2 Venture mains at least know that there's something in the pipeline for the hero, but on the other hand, it's definitely a bummer that they have to wait all the way until Season 14. Based on how long Overwatch 2 seasons tend to last, it's likely that fans will have to wait until late 2024 or even early 2025 to get their hands on the skin. Based on the replies to the tweet, Venture fans are not happy that they have to wait so long for their favorite character to get the skin, with many expressing disbelief that the wait is going to be that long.

It's possible Venture will get a new skin in Season 13 and that the Season 14 skin is just extra special, but that's unclear at this point.

Overwatch 2 Getting a New Venture Skin in Season 14

When the new Venture skin does come to Overwatch 2, it remains to be seen how it will be distributed. It's entirely possible that it will be a part of the Overwatch 2 Battle Pass that season, but it's also possible it will be relegated to the shop. The latter scenario will likely upset Venture fans even further, so it will be interesting to see what happens.

Season 14 should be a big season for Overwatch 2 for other reasons as well. Besides the fact that a new Venture skin is on the way, it's likely that Season 14 will also see the debut of the game's next Tank hero, based on the pattern that's been established so far. Overwatch 2 has added three Tank heroes to the game since launch (Junker Queen, Ramattra, and Mauga), all three of which play quite differently, so it's anyone's guess as to what the next Tank will bring to the table.
