There are numerous foragables to gather in Palia's Elderwood expansion, some that require special tools, and others that you can harvest straightaway. However, some Elderwood foragables can be trickier to find than others, including an uncommon foragable crop called Batterfly Beans, described in the game as a favorite snack for Batterflies living there. While you don’t need any special gear to grab them, they can be tricky to come by. There are also some Elderwood quests where you need to track down Batterfly Beans, so knowing where to find them is essential.

Where To Find Batterfly Beans in Palia

Batterfly Beans Locations in Palia's Elderwood

Batterfly Beans in Palia

To find Batterfly Beans in Palia, look for a green plant with pink berries growing next to the bases of large trees across the Elderwood. However, these tend to only spawn in or close to the following Elderwood map locations:

  • Deep Woods
  • Honeymiel Slope
  • Jenesse Pass
  • Mitana Grove

If you're struggling to find Batterfly Beans and have been searching for some time, try checking the map between Jenesse Pass and the Deep Woods or further into the Deep Woods, where you may come across some of the possible Batterfly Beans spawn locations pictured below:

When harvesting Batterfly Beans in the Elderwood, you can receive one or two beans. You may also get a bag of Batterfly Bean Seeds, which you can plant and grow as a rare seed type. Batterfly Bean Seeds take six days to harvest and are worth 90 gold. They require a 2x2 space to grow like certain other crops in Palia.

What Are Batterfly Beans For in Palia?

Batterfly Beans are a crop you plant and discover in the Elderwood in Palia. One of the main reasons you may need to search for Batterfly Beans is when completing certain Elderwood quests, including Palia's "Bugging Out" and another of Elderwood's hidden quests called "Magic and Maji," the latter of which you can start by speaking with Chayne. Both require you to collect a decent number of Batterfly Beans, with Bugging Out requiring three (among other items), and Magic and Maji requiring 10 Batterfly Beans.

Given that Batterfly Beans don't seem to spawn very often, you can probably expect to be searching for them across the Elderwood for some time. Therefore, grabbing these elusive beans as soon as you spot them is essential.

You can also plant Batterfly Bean Seeds on your Housing Plot to help get more Batterfly Beans. However, unless you use Fertilizer to help speed up the process, you'll still need to water them regularly and clear away any weeds for six days while they grow, so it will likely take some time and effort.

While they're probably too precious to eat after all that foraging or planting, you can also consume Batterfly Beans to restore +15 Focus Points, but it's probably best to avoid doing this unless you've completed all the quests that ask you to forage for Batterfly Beans in the Elderwood.
