Palia is a mass multiplayer farming and adventure simulator. Players can explore the world, nurture a farm, and form relationships with the villagers. They can also keep adorable pets as companions with them on their quests. These pets include cat-like animals known as Palcats.

Palcats will follow alongside players as they travel around, completing quests and discovering collectible items. You can join in on animal fun by getting your own pet. Unlike animals in other farming simulators, Palcats are very low maintenance. Players can own multiple pets that they can interchange as their equipped pet. So, here's how to unlock all the available pets in Palia.

Catching bugs in Palia is essential when leveling up the Bug Catching skill, but it can also be a great way to earn extra money.

How to Get a Pet in Palia

Palia

There are currently four Palcats in the game that players can own. You will receive a Palcat every time you make a qualifying Palia Coin purchase. Palia Coins are in-game currency bought from the Premium Store using real money and can be used to buy themed costumes and gliders. Players will get their first pet by purchasing any amount of Palia Coins.

Palia

All the pets are entirely cosmetic, so players don't miss any gameplay if they don't want to spend money on them. Palia is currently in open beta, so more pets may be added in the future. The available Palcats and their descriptions include the following:

  • Sandy Palcat (brown and white fur with green eyes)
  • Nocturnal Palcat (black, purple, and grey fur with red eyes)
  • Island Palcat (aquamarine fur with orange eyes)
  • Snowy Palcat (white fur with blue eyes)
Palia

The first Palcat received will be the Sandy Palcat, but the others unlock when players purchase 3,000 Palia Coins. This will cost at least $33, and then Palcats will automatically be added to the inventory after unlocking them. Palcats are only seen in the overworld if equipped as a player's accessory, so there's no way to feed, groom, or interact with them.

Palia

Players can only equip one Palcat at a time to follow them around. To choose and equip Palcats, players must open the inventory menu and find the Collections section. A paw print icon leads to a list of all the pets collected, and from there, you can pick a Palcat to equip. Palcats can be switched out anytime to match the player's current aesthetic, so have fun with your furry friends.
