Online life sim Palia is looking to receive a fun update on June 25, bringing a new pet, building materials, black market fishing, and more into the game. Palia has built a following based on its cozy, cooperative nature, and the new update looks to expand on the features that have already endeared it to fans.

Palia launched for Nintendo Switch in December 2023 after entering an open beta for PC roughly three months prior, remaining as a free-to-play title on both platforms. A multiplayer online life sim, the game has players focus on cooperation as opposed to competition, with the goal of collectively building the best fantasy village imaginable.

The new update coming June 25, titled Bloomin' Bounties, has been announced on multiple social media platforms with a brief video. Although the posts tout multiple features, the accompanying video hones in on the new Palia pet, an adorable-looking little blue lizard-like creature that produces small spurts of fire from its mouth. This creature, which will only be available in the game's premium shop, will mark the third major pet classification in the game, joining the feline Palcats and the canine-like Flutterfoxes, both of which have multiple varieties that players can collect and befriend to accompany them on adventures. The video shows off two different varieties of the lizard, as a second one is seen wearing pink bows on its horns and fluttering above the ground on tiny wings, so it seems there will be at least two variants of this new pet type.

In addition to the pets, the game will add more ways for players to customize their worlds, including the addition of metal building blocks and some pirate-themed furniture. While fishing is already a popular activity among Palia's fan base, the black market version should open up some new possibilities for the existing mechanic.

Along with these changes are buffs for adventuring parties and the ability to tour the dream home of Palia's romanceable furniture maker, Tish. Tish is one of the best romance options in Palia, as her kind and generous nature compliments her carpentry skills, which already make her an essential NPC for anyone wanting to customize their in-game world.
