Palia features dozens of unique forageable items that can be acquired off the ground, in bushes, or dropped while chopping trees. Some, if not most, can also be obtained through other means, such as store purchases or Prize Bags, with the strong, pungent scent of the bulbous Wild Garlic.
Luckily for you, the robust Wild Garlic is a very common forageable ingredient with multiple applications, but even for an experienced Palia player, they are quite tricky to find in-game. Wild Garlic is one of many gatherable ingredients you can find in the open world, which, according to its in-game description, can be enjoyed in home-cooked meals or, if you dare, eaten raw. Wild Garlic is considered an Uncommon rarity item, meaning it readily spawns in various areas across the map.
While it’s fairly common to find Wild Garlic around Kilima Village, we had more success foraging this bulbous item in the southernmost areas of Bahari Bay, namely the areas between Hideaway Bluffs and Windy Ruins, including Pulsewater Plains. Luckily for players, Wild Garlic spawns in the open world at any time of the day; however, if you are unlucky in foraging for them, they can spend 46 Gold for each Wild Garlic item at Zeki’s General Store.
Likewise, they can drop one Lucky Coin into the Wondrous Machine located inside the General Store and receive a Lucky Box with the hope of getting Wild Garlic. You can also try your luck spinning the Prize Wheel at the Palia Underground Market to possibly win an Ingredients Prize Bag, which may contain the bulbous item.
Wild Garlic Uses in Palia
Wild Garlic has a few valuable applications in Palia, but planting or gardening isn’t one such application. Nevertheless, finding Wild Garlic is needed to complete certain quests like “Garlic Lovers”, “Home and Back Again”, and several Discovery, Friendship, and Romance quests.
Foraging Wild Garlic can contribute to progressing three achievements, namely the Advanced, Expert, and Master Forager achievements. Additionally, it can be used in many dishes, as using a Star-quality Wild Garlic may improve the dish’s chances of achieving a Star-quality value as well.
At the start of this guide, we mentioned that Wild Garlic can be eaten raw, which, at its base value, will give you 10 Focus Points, while its Star-quality value gives 15 Focus Points. Lastly, you can sell Wild Garlic to a vendor in Kilima Village, including Zeki at his General Store, whose basic value will give you 23 Gold per item, and its Star-quality value will net you 34 Gold.
