Palworld recently teased its future plans for its early access period, promising an endgame boss and much more. On January 19, Palworld celebrated its first anniversary, and its second year is gearing up to be just as content-packed. Since its launch, Palworld has made huge waves, and its future roadmap hints at even bigger things ahead for both the game and players.
Via its X account, Palworld offered players a run-down of what to expect as the game continues its early access period. A strong balance of both major and minor upgrades is waiting on the horizon, but one of the most compelling updates is found in the game's plans for a final boss located at the mysterious World Tree. Palworld's roadmap plans set the stage for a year packed with major content, and these continued updates could help solidify the game's longevity in a crowded sea of competition.
Palworld: All New Skills in Feybreak Expansion & What They Do
Palworld's Feybreak expansion marked the arrival of many new skills to the game. Find out about them and what they do through this guide.
Palworld's Early Access Promises Game-Changing Features
Everything Pocketpair Inc. Has Revealed So Far
- Co-op crossplay
- World transfers for Pals
- Final Boss at World Tree / End-game scenario
- More ways to strengthen one's Pals
- New Pals and technologies
- Collaborations (including Terraria)
- Improvements to world object placement
- Improvements to base Pals
- Improvements to optimization
- Improvements to UX
This extensive list paints quite an exciting picture of Palworld's future plans. The most notable updates that are the most exciting, though, are found in the co-op crossplay, World transfers, final boss, and new Pals. When it comes to co-op crossplay, getting the opportunity to play with friends who have different platforms is a huge step for any game that is available on different consoles and PC. Once this update is added, Palworld's co-op will potentially become more popular in the community. Also, players soon getting the ability to transfer their Pals between World servers is a game-changer for those who are reluctant to try a new World because of having to start fresh. Palworld's recent Feybreak update brought forth a bounty of great updates, but it's clear that Pocketpair Inc. Has no intention of stopping the content train.
Palworld's first piece of Terraria crossover content brings the Meowmere sword to the game.
Most intriguing of all is the teased final boss. This end-game encounter will be found at the World Tree, one of the most intriguing locations in all of Palworld. Since launch, the World Tree has remained a mystery, but it appears as though the game is revving up to finally reveal the landmark's true nature. It's unclear what this end-game boss could be, but it's bound to be one of several new Pals planned for future updates. With each update, the game's Pal roster has grown extensively, so it will be fascinating to find out what new ones are set to be added.
Palworld Continues to Prove It Has Serious Staying Power
When it comes to the open world survival genre, it can be difficult to stick out from the crowd. Minecraft boasts its blocky aesthetic and embrace of creativity, while Valheim has its viking-focused edge. However, a lot of games in the genre can initially have success and dwindle in popularity over time. If Palworld continues to bring extra content at this rate and scale, the title could possibly have years of life ahead of it. As Palworld expands its horizons, players are constantly given even more reasons to continue playing.
The Feybreak update added Feybreak Island, the Feybreak Warriors faction, and around 24 new Pals.
As of now, Pocketpair Inc. Has yet to reveal when Palworld will be ready to leave early access. As the game continues to add Pals and content, an official release date will eventually become known. Until then, though, Palworld's early access plans are starting its year off strong.
