Palworld has over 100 Pals to find and a vast map to explore, not to mention a ton of dungeons to explore and items to gather and craft.
All Difficulty Options in Palworld
At the start of a new game, players will be given the choice of creating a new world and, at the same time, choosing the difficulty level at which they want to begin Palworld. Developers Pocketpair has helpfully provided four different options to choose from, and they include:
- Casual
- Normal
- Hard
- Custom
Casual Difficulty
For those new to the genre, choosing this option is the way to go. Pals will be easier to catch, and XP will be much easier to earn. Resource gathering and egg incubation will also be sped up. Fighting battles will also become easier, and dying has no dire consequences.
Normal Difficulty
On normal difficulty, players will have to watch out more. This mode will provide a well-balanced experience, and should you be defeated, do note that all equipment and material items will be dropped on the spot, making it essential to retrieve them so as not to lose out on progress.
Hard Difficulty
For those who want a real challenge, this level will bring on an onslaught of aggressive Pals, making them harder to defeat and catch. XP gain is also lowered while gathering and incubating takes a longer time. Players will also take more damage and deal less damage, while death will see everything, including Pals, dropped on the spot.
Custom Difficulty
This is where the fun of customization begins, as there are a ton of options to tweak for that bespoke Palworld experience that you might desire. Encounter rates can be changed, XP gain can be lowered or increased, and various multipliers can also be adjusted. Be sure to explore all the options to find the right balance for yourself.
