  • Palworld developer Pocketpair has revealed details of first raid, Bellanoir, with new evil Pal to challenge players on Palpagos Islands.
  • Upcoming Palworld raid may be similar to World of Warcraft raids, requiring players to band together to defeat new boss Bellanoir.

Palworld developer Pocketpair has revealed a few details about the game’s first raid, Bellanoir. The creature-collecting RPG has experienced runaway success, taking even the developer by surprise. Palworld hit the milestone of 25 million players in just a month and has filled the coffers of the small Japanese indie game studio.

Creator Takuro Mizobe has stated in interviews that he’s not sure if Pocketpair can ever replicate Palworld’s monumental success with another game, and the developer is certainly keen to ensure this one's longevity. There have been regular updates released for Palworld since launch, mostly fixing bugs and bringing the Xbox build closer to parity with the Steam version. There has also been talk of the RPG making the jump to other platforms like the PS5.

Palworld has plenty of adorable designs, but these Pals stand out above the rest.

Now, Pocketpair has provided a few details about the game’s first raid, which is currently only announced to be “coming soon.” Called Bellanoir after the new critter that players will be taking down, the raid takes place in the Palpagos Islands, where the “powerful evil Pal” is laying siege. The announcement specifies that only the most skilled Pal Tamers should attempt to take on Bellanoir, but no doubt all Palworld players will be eager to check out the raid as soon as it drops.

Palworld's First Raid Bellanoir Details

There are still a lot of unknowns about the upcoming Palworld raid, such as what exactly a raid will even entail. It will certainly differ from the raids that already take place in the RPG, when mobs of rogue Pals or humans show up to attack player settlements. Fans expect that it will be more akin to a World of Warcraft raid, with a group of players banding together to take down a particularly strong boss. From the trailer, it seems that players will summon the unruly Bellanoir using crystals and maybe altars, and the new Pal may possibly use a new element that appears as blue flames. That might just be effects added for the trailer, though.

Palworld launched in early access in January 2024, and it was made clear at the time that the game was only a little over halfway complete. It was also announced that raid bosses would eventually be added to Palworld, as well as a few other mechanics that have many gamers excited. These will include an arena where players can duel their Pals, some form of PvP, and crossplay between Xbox and Steam. There will also be more content added to the game like new islands, Pals, and even more bosses to take down.
