There are a total of nine different Element Types: Water, Ice, Fire, Ground, Electric, Grass, Dark, Neutral, and Dragon. Dark skills are among the most powerful in the game, and will be especially effective against Neutral Element Types. Dark Pals will be vulnerable to Dragon types, though, so each Element Type has its own strengths and weaknesses. Once the Pal has unlocked an Active Skill, they will use it automatically in combat, there is no need for the player to issue any commands in order to activate the Active Skil.
8 Dark Ball
Grenade-Style Attack Available to All Dark Pals

" Dark Ball" is a relatively basic attack which acts like a homing missile, launching a ball of dark energy at enemies and exploding on impact. While lots of Pals have this Active Skill by default, not every Pal does, and for those that don't, they can be taught the skill through the use of a Dark Ball Fruit.
This relatively basic Dark Element skill is usually obtained at lower levels in a Pal's development. Nonetheless, it can be helpful to train some weaker Pals with almost no combat skills this basic attack. This skill is available to all Dark Element Pals.

7 Shadow Burst
Close-Ranged Explosive Attack For All Dark Pals

"Shadow Burst" is a convenient area-of-effect attack which causes the Pal to unleash a burst of dark energy, damaging nearby enemies within a close proximity. This skill is one of the default dark element attacks and can be used by all Dark Element Pals.
While the attack has decent power and certainly has utility when faced with overwhelming numbers of less powerful enemies, the long charge time and range of superior skills means that it is relatively generic for the category of Dark Active Skills
6 Jumping Claw
Exclusive Skill For Loupmoon Which Activates A Devastating Swipe Attack

- Charge Time: 7 Seconds
"Jumping Claw" is a an exclusive melee attack still for Loupmoon, which will cause them to spring forward and unleash a powerful strike with additional dark energy damage. As one of Loupmoon's Active Skills, no Pal Gear or requirements must be fulfilled to unlock it at Level 7.
Unfortunately for Loupmoon, this also doubles up as a Partner Skill, thereby negating the chance of having a further ability, but as far as Active Skill attacks go, this is quite a powerful one and helps to differentiate Loupmoon with an individuated combat style.
5 Phantom Peck
Cawgnito Exclusive Ability Which Enables Teleportation

"Phantom Peck" is an Active Skill exclusive to Cawgnito, the Pal resembling a hatted plague doctor, and is a relatively powerful exclusive skill in the dark elements category. This special skill enables Cawgnito to teleport across the battlefield before striking enemies with its beak.
Palworld: All Pal Gear & How to Get Them
In Palworld, Pal Gear makes your exploration and survival easier by teaming up with your Pals and using their abilities to traverse the islands.
As far as unique skills go, it can be quite useful, and certainly for early-to-mid-game players, this can be a very powerful skill with Cawgnito as a companion. With a relatively fast cooldown time, this ability can be used quite frequently, which can add a lot of benefits in combat.
4 Nightmare Ball
Charges And Fires A Powerful Ball Of Dark Energy

Nightmare Ball is a powerful Dark Element attack which causes the Pal to generate a large ball of dark energy and hurl it at opponents. This is one of the skills that make the element type so powerful, since it is available to all Dark Element Pals.
The only downside to this ability is its lengthy charge time, but that can be expected when it comes to Active Skills that produce so much damage against enemies. For most Pals, this a very high level skill, and for some Pals it is the highest Active Skill they can unlock.
3 Twin Spears
Necromus Exclusive Skill Inflicting Huge Damage

- Charge Time: 40
Twin Spears is an exclusive skill for Necromus, who can be found at the northern tip of the Sand Dunes. The ability causes Necromus to use his two lance-like arms in a whirlwind attack with stabbing motions. This can be ideal for destroying groups of lower level enemies, but will also have some utility during boss fights as well.
Necromus also has a useful Partner Skill, which enables it to be mounted and double jump while the player is riding. Given that this Pal has these diverse attributes and abilities, it is well worth seeking it out to capture.
2 Dark Laser
Powerful Energy Beam, Available To Necromus And Astegon

Dark Laser is a very powerful attack, and is easily one of the best Active Skills for Dark Pals to acquire. By default, only Necromus and Astegon will possess this ability, but it can be taught to other Pals through the acquisition of Dark Laser Fruit.
When activated, this attack will charge up a powerful dark energy beam before firing it towards any nearby enemies. This Active Skill, like many others, can also be passed on genetically to other species through selective breeding programs.
1 Divine Disaster
One Of The Best Active Skills In The Game – Exclusive To Shadowbeak

- Charge Time: 45
Divine Disaster is the most powerful Active Skill available to Dark Pals, and it also has a relatively quick cooldown time considering the damage it inflicts. This skill is exclusive to Shadowbeak and causes it to charge forward while dispersing orbs which capture enemies, before barraging them with beams of light.
Palworld: Hardest Alpha Pals, Ranked
Alpha pals are difficult to defeat, but their abilities make it worth the effort for Palworld players.
This ability is quite overpowered, and is certainly among the best unique Active Skills in the game. The ability to capture multiple enemies at once can be hugely beneficial as it will temporarily take them out of the fight. In most circumstances, too, an ability of this power is quite likely to finish many enemies off.
