Character creation is the first step players need to finish before they can head into the strange islands of Palworld. Here, you get to customize your character using a variety of styles and colors. The only option here that isn't readily given is your character's name.

Everyone is prone to having second thoughts when it comes to their character's appearance, though names rarely come to mind when changes of heart like these happen. If you've only just realized that you were never given the chance to set your own name in Palworld, then there's still a chance for you to make some corrections.
Changing Palworld Character Names
As of writing, there is no way to change the name of an existing Palworld character. You can name yourself in the character creation screen right before the game starts, though this feature doesn't appear to be available to Xbox Game Pass players, since Palworld's version there is different from the one on Steam.
If you join a different server, then you'll still have a chance to change your name since you'll be starting over with a different character. However, once you pick your name, you won't be able to change it until an edit feature is introduced in a future patch. You can't change your character's appearance either, so pick your looks wisely before venturing out into the archipelago. Thankfully, Pocketpair does plan on implementing a re-edit feature in the future, but until then, you'll have to settle with what you've got so far.
The only names that you can change at the moment are those of your Pals. You can give your Pals nicknames by opening up the Options screen, selecting the Party window, and picking a Pal you want to edit. You should see a big, blue Edit button right next to their name. If this isn't there, then level your Pal up first by fighting hostiles or having said Pal work at your base. Again, Xbox Game Pass players seem to have gotten the short end of the stick here, as even the Pal rename feature isn't available in this version of the game so far.
As a last resort for changing your Palworld character name, you could always delete your world save file and start a new one. To do so, return to the main menu, select your world, then select the Delete World option. Type DELETE (in all caps) in the box that appears, then say goodbye to your save file.
