A Palworld player took to social media to show off an overpowered Depresso they bred and demonstrated their steps to power it up and how much damage the Pal unleashed on various bosses. Following their video post, other Palworld players complimented the Depresso breeder, while others gave context to the processes they used.
As a Dark-type Pal, Depresso is one of the first Pals that new Palworld players can encounter. Depresso can only be found at night, but it can be found in various low-level areas of the world, including the grasslands near Zoe's tower. Though Depresso has a gloomy expression, the Paldeck indicates that the blue Pal has a kindhearted personality and is known to help stranded Pals by offering food. With the Partner Skill Caffeine Inoculation, Depresso can temporarily increase its movement speed, which can come in handy in both a fight and at bases. Though Depresso's work skills are low-ranking, it can still work at nighttime, which makes it a safe bet for maintaining bases early on in Palworld.
Though Depresso is usually not the strongest Dark-type pal, one Palworld player used unconventional methods to create a powerful Pal. A Reddit user named Infylos posted a video montage of their Depresso on the r/Palworld subreddit. Naming their Depresso "Strong Sad" as a reference to the web series Homestar Runner, Infylos' Depresso was created with the perks of Lord of the Underworld, Legend, Ferocious, and Musclehead, with two traits only obtainable by breeding Alpha Pals. While Depresso's initial attack and defense stats were within normal parameters, the OP used a glitch that used Pals, such as Hoocrates, that bolstered the party's stats. The glitch in question had the OP drop Pals while mounted on another Pal with an elemental affinity.
A Palworld Player Shows The Power of Depresso
By repeating this process, the party buffs provided by Hoocrates continued to stack until Depresso's attack stat reached a staggering 196,685. The OP then demonstrated their Depresso in action, as its ridiculous attack stat allowed it to take down even the strongest bosses in the game in a single attack. This glitch remained active in Palworld version 0.1.5.1 on PC, which fixed some outstanding issues. However, the OP clarified in the comments that the buff is not permanent and that Depresso's stats will reset back to their normal ranges upon logging out of Palworld.
While some Palworld players criticized Infylos for using a glitch to trivialize the game, others noted some of the techniques they used. Though Depresso is a popular Pal with fans, it remains to be seen if Pocketpair will address the glitch used by Infylos or not.
