Palworld players currently have a chance to earn an exclusive skin, which will be followed by two more such offers. But there's a catch in that these limited-time Palworld cosmetics are only available to Steam users who are prepared to watch a lot of Twitch.

The monster-taming game from Japanese indie studio Pocketpair has proven to be a massive hit since hitting early access back in January 2024. Palworld's success also translated to Twitch, where the game's been enjoying impressive viewership figures over the past seven months.

Palworld Launches Twitch Summer Drops Fest

In an apparent attempt to acknowledge the game's popularity on Amazon's streaming service, Pocketpair has announced a new promotion that allows Steam users to grab some exclusive Palworld skins via Twitch Drops. The studio is planning to give away three cosmetics in total, the first of which comes in the form of a Golden Relaxaurus that can already be acquired between now and August 27. This exclusive skin will be followed by Sailor Quivern and Summer Chillet, in that order, both of which will be obtainable for a week each.

Acquiring these skins requires linking one's Twitch and Steam accounts via both the game's website and Twitch itself. From there, fans will need to spend an hour watching campaign-eligible Palworld streams for each of the three cosmetics during their respective promo periods. These broadcasts can conveniently be filtered on Twitch via the "DropsEnabled" tag. Having multiple streams on simultaneously won't complete the watchtime requirement any faster. Once an hour is up, fans can acquire their reward by clicking the "Claim Now" button on the Twitch Drops inventory page.

How To Get Palworld Twitch Drops

  1. Visit the Palworld Twitch Drops website.
  2. Log in with your Twitch account.
  3. Log in with your Steam account.
  4. Make sure your Steam account is connected to your Twitch account under Twitch settings.
  5. Watch campaign-eligible Palworld streams (identified by DropsEnabled tag) while logged in on Twitch during the promo period.
  6. Claim a skin after one hour of watchtime via the Twitch Drops inventory page.

Doing all that will result in a new cosmetic being added to one's Steam account. Palworld skins can be enabled via the Pal Dressing Facility, an in-game building introduced as part of the 0.3.1.0 Sakurajima update, which rolled out in late June 2024. The Pal Dressing Facility is categorized as a tier 1 technology item that is unlocked automatically for all players. Constructing it requires 30 Workload units, 10 Stones, and 10 Paldium Fragments.

The start of Pocketpair's Twitch Summer Drops Fest promotion arrived just ahead of yet another Palworld update. Identified by version number 0.3.6, the new patch reached Steam players on August 22, introducing server and save data fixes. The update is expected to roll out to the Xbox Game Pass and console versions of Palworld in the coming days, as soon as Microsoft certifies it.
