2024 has seen Palworld grow in ways that most fans could not have imagined, and no other time has shown it better than December. The game recently released the Feybreak major update, putting in many different things from new resources to an all-new island. While the patch has given so many new places to explore and things to do or collect, one particular addition has caught the eye of its players. It comes in the form of a new Spider-Man-like Pal and a certain quality that can be considered enjoyable while also being good for the future of Palworld.

December 23, 2024, saw the official release of Palworld's Feybreak update, a major patch that can be seen as a gift to the players as it gave the game a lot of new content. One of the standout additions is the Pal known as Tarantriss, an adorable creature that looks like a spider. With such an appearance, it would be natural to assume that it would also contain arachnid qualities, and the game does not disappoint in that regard. While being ridden on, the new Pal grants the ability to swing around environments, similar to how superhero Spider-Man would. This one thing has become beloved by players and brings possibilities for what can be done to improve Palworld.

Palworld Makes Change to Pal Enhancement

Palworld players take to social media to share how the Feybreak content update allows them to enhance their Pals' stats to higher levels.

Why Tarantriss Is a Big Deal for Palworld

The new Pal with Spider-Man web-swinging powers is a wonderful new addition, and hopefully, Pocketpair acknowledges just how much positive reception it has received. The developer has done something special with Tarantriss, as it has shown what's possible in the game and provided it with future opportunities such as:

  • It allows players to explore environments in a new and fun way, incentivizing them to explore more areas to see where they can best use the ability.
  • It acts as a temporary retreat from grinding resources, building bases, raising stronger Pals, etc., letting players relax and enjoy the world they were meant to explore.
  • The ability to swing on nearly any surface could potentially mean that Pocketpair devises new areas around the ability, allowing the developer more creative opportunities for better environmental design.
  • The positive reception of the new way of traveling and the fresh new experience it brought could mean Pocketpair creating even more, making the game's future updates something for fans to look forward to.

While not exactly one of the best Pals for combat, Tarantriss shows that a creature partner doesn't have to be strong to have fun with. Hopefully, Pocketpair will consider introducing other monsters with more unique traversing abilities in the future, as it has shown to be highly appreciated by the Palworld community.

How to Improve Tarantriss’ New Way of Exploring the Environment

With Tarantriss already tapping into the Spider-Man-esque way of traversing the world, perhaps Pocketpair should consider doubling down on that. Given that the Pal is a spider and can use its web to stick to surfaces and swing around from place to place, perhaps it can use its arachnid-like qualities to allow it to stick to crawl on walls. This would make the monster even more desirable, as it lets players move around in ways that truly feel like they can explore absolutely every part of the beautiful locations of Palworld. If Pocketpair were to add such an ability on top of the new one already added, that would mean another fresh new experience for players to enjoy and open up the possibility of introducing even more interesting methods of travel in the future.

Palworld's major update for December has already been a huge gift for its fans, and Tarantriss and its web-swinging ability can be seen as the icing on top of the cake. Hopefully, Pocketpair will take note of the positive reception the Pal has received and add others like it during the next major update, as it has shown to be highly appreciated by the game's fans.
