In Palworld, there are many different environments for players to explore, so much so that it would take too long to get to them all by traveling on foot. Instead of walking from one place to another, people have the option of obtaining mounts and using them during journeys. All it takes is capturing the Pals of Palworld that can be ridden, which the game isn't lacking in terms of options, as there are a lot. However, there are some creatures, whether it's because of their qualities or their popularity, that one would think should be rideable but aren't, which Pocketpair may want to consider changing.
When selecting which Pals should be deemed as mountable in Palworld, Pocketpair may have considered things such as whether it's possible to ride them, if people want to, or if they provide a special method of getting around. Because of that, there is a long list of creatures that are used to make traveling easier or more interesting, catering to each player's taste. Among the Pals who didn't make the cut, there are five in particular that would have made for great mounts, which Pocketpair has the opportunity to turn them into in a future update.
Palworld Idea Would Make Breeding Even Better
Pal breeding in Palworld could be improved with one feature proposed by a fan of Pocketpair's popular monster-taming survival game.
Lovander
The Passionate Pal Who’s Always on the Prowl
- Elements: Neutral
- Locations: Twiliight Dunes, Dessicrated Desert, Mount Obsidian
While somewhat questionable due to its nature of abducting victims for love-making, one cannot deny that turning
Lovander into a mount would be interesting and entertaining. Given that it's used to making off with its prey, the monster is expected to be quick on its feet, which is a perfect characteristic for a mount. It also presents Pocketpair with the opportunity to give it a special riding animation, where the player can be cradled in its arms while being transported, which could lead to many memorable and funny traveling moments.
Orserk
The Roaring Thunder That Primarily Shocks Its Adversaries
- Elements: Dragon, Electric
- Locations: No.3 Wildlife Sanctuary
One would think that capturing an Orserk in Palworld would mean that it could be ridden on, but apparently, that is not the case. Pocketpair may want to consider turning it into a rideable Pal, as there are a few factors which deem it worthy of being one:
-
Orserk
is one of the only dragon-type Pals that cannot be ridden, which can be seen as a missed opportunity given that its characteristics make it a perfect mount
- Being able to get on the monster would have provided the opportunity for people to use its special attack of throwing an electrified trident at targets, something that many would likely enjoy doing
- While the creature may be dangerous to ride due to how it generates electricity, Pocketpair could have made a craftable item that would have allowed it, allowing for a new mechanic that can enhance gameplay
Penking
The Penguin-Like Pal Deemed as the Pioneer of the Frozen Sea
- Elements: Water, Ice
- Locations: No. 1 Wildlife Sanctuary, North of the Desolate Church
Meeting and capturing a Penking in Palworld should help immediately show why it would be an interesting Pal to turn into a mount. It has a unique move, known as the Emperor's slide, that involves it generating frozen air and using it to slide into and slam enemies. Such an attack can be modified into a unique mode of travel that only
Penking can provide, and one that players will likely enjoy.
Foxcicle
The Majestic Pal With Claws of Ice
- Elements: Ice
- Locaiton: Frostbound Mountains
Of all the Pals that cannot be mounted, perhaps
Foxcicle is the one that makes the least sense. It shares similar characteristics with other mountable monsters, a good example being
Foxparks, begging the question as to why it isn't given the same treatment. Couple that with its beautiful looks and combat capabilities, Pocketpair should strongly consider updating it to become rideable.
Menasting
A Dangerous Pal Known as the Unstoppable Stinger
- Elements: Dark, Ground
- Locations: The Desiccated Mineshaft, No.2 Wildlife Sanctuary, Desert of Sakurajima
Capturing a Menasting in Palworld should have allowed players to use it and its high mobility to explore the world, but unfortunately, that isn't the case. Given that it resembles a scorpion, it also could have provided an interesting feature of latching on to and moving across vertical surfaces like the side of mountains or buildings. With what's mentioned, and its cool-looking appearance,
Menasting earns the right to be made into a mountable Pal.
The roadmap for Palworld shows that it plans on improving its Pals before the game exits its early access, which means there's a chance for certain creatures to receive some changes or improvements. Should Pocketpair decide to turn a few into mounts, the ones mentioned should be highly considered, given their potential and the opportunities missed by not making them rideable in the first place.
