Palworld developer Pocketpair has revealed that talks are ongoing for the game to come to more platforms. Palworld was initially released in January for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, leaving PlayStation and Nintendo Switch gamers wondering when they'll be able to get their hands on one of the most popular games of the game.

When Palworld was first released in January, no one could have predicted the level of success it would go on to achieve, least of all, Pocketpair itself. The $30 title went on to reach 25 million players within its first month, according to the studio, making it one of the biggest indie game success stories of recent times. Early comparisons of "Pokemon with guns" intrigued the gaming community, and as more players jumped in, Palworld became a must-play.

Speaking to Bloomberg, Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe confirmed that the studio was in talks to bring Palworld to more platforms, although he stopped short of naming any in particular. The obvious contenders are the PlayStation 4 and 5, as well as the Nintendo Switch. Considering Nintendo's comments on the Palworld situation and its similarities to Pokemon, it would certainly be an interesting development if the game were to come to the Switch after all.

Mizobe confirmed that Pocketpair is open to considering offers for acquisition, although the studio isn't involved in these kinds of talks with Microsoft at the moment, despite Palworld's presence on Xbox Game Pass. Of Pocketpair itself, Mizobe said, "We are and will remain a small studio," reiterating that the game's financial success will not result in the developer switching to a big-budget triple-A focus, although he did reaffirm his belief that "Games are most fun with playing with friends." It seems that whatever comes next for Pocketpair, multiplayer gaming will be at the heart of it.

While speculation about the game's release on more platforms continues, Pocketpair continues to update the game with interesting content, keeping it fresh for both new and returning players. Recently, Palworld's first raid and a new boss pal were revealed, giving gamers a glimpse of what they can expect in upcoming updates. Pocketpair has done a great job so far of retaining players after its colossal release, and the game coming to PlayStation consoles and the Nintendo Switch would be a great way to further cement that Palworld is here to stay.
