It looks like the wildly successful "Pokemon with guns" game Palworld is finally coming to the PlayStation 5. Palworld launched in early access at the beginning of the year and was an immediate success. The survival game smashed Steam records and is quite easily one of 2024's best-selling new releases. What makes this even more impressive is that Palworld has so far only been available on PC and Xbox.

There have long been rumors that Palworld is coming to PS5, with both PlayStation and Pocketpair responding to the demand. No concrete plans for Palworld on PS5 have been announced at the time of this writing, but it looks like an announcement could be happening sooner rather than later.

As spotted by Gematsu, a list of Tokyo Game Show 2024 games has been released by the CESA, and they include a PS5 version of Palworld. Gematsu noted that the list is not necessarily definitive, and so fans shouldn't hold their breath, but it does seem quite possible that a Palworld PS5 announcement could happen at Tokyo Game Show. PlayStation is expected to have a big presence at the event (starting September 26) and considering Palworld's popularity, it would make a lot of sense for the game's PS5 port to be unveiled at the show.

Palworld PS5 Announcement Could Be Happening Soon

If Palworld's PS5 port is announced at Tokyo Game Show, it would mean big things for the survival game, especially if said port is dropping by the end of the year. Palworld is currently in early access, but PS5 doesn't really have an early access program equivalent to Steam Early Access or Xbox Game Preview. Therefore, a Palworld PS5 port could very well signal plans for the game's 1.0 release. This is just speculation at this time, though, and so fans should certainly keep their expectations in check.

Since launch, Palworld has received numerous updates. Some of these updates have addressed the game's technical problems, while others have added substantial new content to the experience. In fact, a Palworld update this past summer added a brand-new landmass to explore along with new Pals to catch. Even more Palworld updates are waiting in the wings, so perhaps the PS5 version will coincide with said update.

Whenever Palworld comes to PS5, it will open itself up to a massive new audience of players. The only thing remaining would be a port to Nintendo consoles, but it seems highly unlikely that the game will ever come to the Switch.
