One of Palworld's best-known public representatives has just issued a major tease about the release of the Tides of Terraria update, indicating that it may be coming a lot sooner than a lot of players may be expecting. Palworld's next major content update still has no official release date, but communication director Bucky is letting fans know to get prepared.
Palworld shot to the top of the Steam charts when it launched in early access in January 2024. Like many games launched in early access, its popularity cooled off quickly, though it's still been pulling between 24,000 and 31,000 concurrent player peaks on Steam daily in addition to its players on Xbox and PlayStation 5.
Palworld's Countdown to 1.0 Needs to Start Ticking Faster
Palworld may be pressured to release its 1.0 version sooner than later, as a recent announcement is looming to become a serious threat.
Bucky recently responded to a Twitter post from streamer MightyKeef, who said he hadn't played Palworld since shortly after its early access launch, became curious as to what content had been added, and saw six hours go by in a flash while enjoying the additions to the game. In his response, Bucky narrowed down the Tides of Terraria release window a bit by stating that it will be coming "very very very soon." While the communication director said there have been several major additions to the game since the start of 2024, he noted Tides of Terraria's impending launch will add even more content to enjoy. Prior to that announcement, the best estimate players could get out of Pocketpair was that the major content update would be arriving sometime during the summer of 2025, and Bucky's newfound eagerness is leading some to believe an announcement is just around the corner.
Palworld's Tides of Terrarria Release Announcement May be Coming Soon
The Tides of Terraria update was announced around the middle of May. The first major video game crossover coming into Palworld will see elements of Re-Logic's sandbox game Terraria make their way to the game. There still hasn't been a ton of specific information released via the game's official communication channels, but players can expect to see the introduction of new islands, even more Pals, and additional unspecified content.
The game has already seen two major content updates since its early access launch. Palworld's Sakurajima update arrived just under a year ago, in late June 2024, with the Feybreak update launching six months later, in late December 2024. Both of those updates introduced their own new Pals and lands to explore, just like Tides of Terraria is promising, so if the six-month trend for major update releases holds true, fans may see Tides of Terraria as a surprise drop before the end of June.
