Palworld update 0.2.1.0 is now available for download on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. This release addresses a number of critical issues, including one game-breaking bug introduced in the previous Palworld patch.
The problematic update rolled out on April 9, bumping the game's version number up to 0.2.0.6. In the hours that followed, some fans took to social media to claim that the patch prevented them from resuming their multiplayer adventures. Pocketpair promptly responded to the reports of Palworld players losing saves by asking the fandom to refrain from loading their multiplayer data while it investigates the issue, all the while apologizing for the mishap.

Palworld Multiplayer Is Now Working Again on Xbox
The situation has now been partially remedied with the 0.2.1.0 patch, which rolled out on Thursday, April 11. This release fixes the multiplayer bug introduced in the previous Palworld update for Xbox consoles, but at the expense of some chat functionality. Specifically, Pocketpair tracked down the cause of the issue to a chat bug that prevented multiplayer save data from loading correctly. Since it's still working on implementing a permanent fix, it opted to disable chat entirely as a band-aid solution, having said as much in a recent social media update.
According to early player reports and Pocketpair's own description of the situation, this newly deployed fix should allow most players to restore their old multiplayer data. What is currently unclear is whether those who previously made new characters after being unable to load their old ones will also be able to resume their initial adventures, or if they're now stuck with their second saves. In terms of more straightforward fixes, the newly released patch eliminates a problem that sporadically prevented achievements related to Palworld's first raid boss from unlocking.
Beyond that, the 0.2.1.0 update also resolves an issue that broke Palworld incubators, making them unable to accept eggs. Players were previously side-stepping the problem by rebuilding incubators, which was a reliable way to get them working correctly again. This bug is still present in the Steam version of the game, which normally gets updated first, at least when critical issues warranting an immediate response don't crop up on Xbox.
The April 11 patch also promises to improve loading times on the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles. It even includes two new features in the form of credits and bug reports, both of which can now be accessed from the main menu. Pocketpair recently announced a major Palworld update planned for summer, which is meant to add a new island to the hit crafting RPG.
