Early on in your quest through the remake of the classic Gamecube RPG Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, you'll run into a Toad in Rogueport named Zess T. After being run into by a random thief, she will drop her contact lens, which Mario will unfortunately walk on and squish into oblivion. In order to get to the west side of the city, you'll have to get her a replacement contact lens.

Since you'll need to get to the other side of Rogueport to continue on your adventure, we will show you how you can appease Zess T. And get her a fresh new contact lens.

How to Order a Contact Lens in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

In order to get a new contact lens for Zess T., you'll first need to order the product. After stepping on the contact lens, you can visit the store just to the right of Zess T. With a Fire Flower above it. You can use the second image above as a reference.

Inside here, you can approach the first green Toad with a mustache. Talk to him, and he will tell you that they currently don't have any contact lenses, but he will go ahead and order one for you. However, it will take some time before the contact lens will become available for purchase for you. Make sure to save your game, and revisit the store later.

How to Purchase a Contact Lens in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

After placing the order at the Toad Bros. Bazaar, you will want to go ahead and focus on other tasks in the game. The contact lens will only become available for purchase after you have completed Chapter 1 of the popular turn-based RPG game. This will occur after you've visited Petalburg, and beat Hooktail at his castle, found northeast of Rogueport.

When you've defeated the boss and completed the required prerequisites, including completing the Thwomp Quiz, you can return to Rogueport from Petalburg by using the stone pipe that you came through. Make your way back to the town center where you found the Toad Bros. Bazaar. One of the workers will be standing outside the shop, and you can talk to him, and he will let you know the contact lens is available for purchase. You'll also most likely have an email from them in your Mailbox SP. Head inside, and you'll find the contact lens sitting in the front. It will cost you 10 coins to purchase.

After picking up the item, head back outside and to the left to approach Zess T. She will immediately move out of the way once you hand over the contact lens to her. You'll now have access to the western side of Rogueport, where you'll continue your adventure through the lengthy RPG. Here's what you can find on the western side:

  • Koopa and Toad NPC Homes
  • Back alley leading to the Poshley Heights train
  • Back alley leading to Glitzville Blimp
  • Pianta Parlor
  • Westside Goods
  • Hidden Star Piece in the very back of the area close to Westside Goods, behind a trash can
  • Happy Lucky Lottery
