Fast travel is a common mechanic in most modern games that makes it easier for players to revisit previous locations, eliminating the need to retrace one's steps. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, while it is not explicitly stated that you can fast travel, there is a way to do this in the game.

Since you aren't given any hints as to how you can fast travel in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, this guide will provide you with all the information you will need to find the correct location and begin fast traveling to your heart's content.

Where to Find the Pipe Room in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

There are actually two ways for you to locate the Pipe Room, one being found in the western area of Rogueport and the other on the eastern side. Here's how to locate the room using both methods, starting with the western side.

  • From the western side of Rogueport, make your way to the middle of the area, where you'll notice a storm drain on the ground used to access Twilight Town. Slip through the cracks here using your Paper Mode ability.
  • In this room, head right and make your way to the bottom floor. Jump into the vertical green pipe at the back right of the room.
  • From here, slip through the cracks of the fence again using your Paper Mode ability, and head through the blue door on the right. You will then be in the Pipe Room.

If you'd rather use the method through the eastern side of Rogueport, here's what you can do:

  • Head to the eastern side of Rogueport and go through the green pipe behind the fence by Professor Frankly's home.
  • Down here, you'll find a moving platform on the right. Jump on this, and then go through the green pipe here.
  • In this area, slip through the cracks in the fence again using Paper Mode, or just walk down the path and down the stairs. The first time you arrive, there will be a piece of paper on the wall obstructing the blue door. Use your partner Madam Flurrie to blow it away, and then enter through the door to reach the Pipe Room.

When you get inside, you'll notice pipes coming out of the ground. Depending on what point you are at in the game, you will have all the previous locations for each pipe, such as Glitzville, Twilight Town, Petalburg, and more. Just jump through the pipe of the area you want to revisit, and you'll immediately arrive in the town's main square.

Inside the Pipe Room, make sure you hit the blue exclamation point block on the right side before leaving as well, as this will give you a fast travel pipe leading to the main area of Rogueport to make it easier to access the Pipe Room next time.
