Gamers who enjoyed the wholesomeness of A Short Hike are in for a real treat with Paradise Marsh as players trade in their feathers for some walking legs in this catch-them-if-you-can indie. While the main goal of the game is to find and collect all the animals around the world, there are additional tasks players can complete for achievements.

One of these is to find and talk to four different birds, each of which will read a poem they have written. Talking to all four birds at least once will unlock Poetry Enthusiast. While each bird does move locations after each time players speak with it (they will also provide a new poem to listen to), only one location/poem from each is required for the achievement. The game does not include an in-game map to reference, so descriptions of their respective biomes have been provided to help narrow down their actual locations.

Blue Bird

Paradise Marsh Blue Bird Location Paradise Marsh Blue Bird Location

This bird only appears in the daytime. In the Biome with the green water and yellow haze will be the bird sitting on a mailbox that's just next to a Monolith. The bird will offer the player three different dialogues before it begins to repeat itself. Be sure to listen to all three dialogue options before leaving the area. The last piece of dialogue will be "...". If players would like to listen to the other two poems available from the Blue Bird, their other two locations are as follows:

  • 2nd Location: In the same Biome with the green water and yellow haze, the bird will be on a mailbox across the water from a Monolith and a well. The last piece of dialogue for this scenario will be "Chirp, where did the dum bird go?".
  • 3rd Location: On the edge of the water where the biome with the green water and yellow haze meets the biome where it's raining, the bird will be on a mailbox just next to some white birch trees. There is also a soccer ball on the ground just next to these trees. The last piece of dialogue for this scenario will be "Can't count on anyone these days".

Crow

This bird only appears in the daytime. In the snow biome will be a scarecrow just next to a Monolith. The Crow is sitting on top of the scarecrow. Listen to all the dialogue before it begins to repeat itself. The repeating dialogue will be "CAW! Did you get it at least?". While not required for the achievement, there are two more locations where players can meet the Crow at to hear additional poems.

  • 2nd Location: While still in the snow biome, the Crow will be sitting on another scarecrow, just next to a tall lamppost. This will be just near the edge of where the snow and raining biomes meet. The final piece of dialogue offered during this encounter will be "What do you know about poetry anyway".
  • 3rd Location: The final Crow encounter will also be found in the snow biome. Next to a lamppost and a snowman that has a green beanie on the ground will be a scarecrow that the Crow will be sitting on. The final piece of dialogue for this scenario will be "I worked hard on this, you better be liking it".

Owl

This bird only appears at night. In the "Autumn" biome (the one with more orange colors and tall pine trees) is a lamppost with an Owl on it. The post is just beyond a tree with a spider in it. The last piece of dialogue it will offer before it starts to repeat itself will be "Hoot! Hoot!". Just as with the previous birds, the Owl will have two more locations for the player to find them if they would like to hear two more poems.

  • 2nd Location: In the rainy biome, there will be an area that has a spider tree just next to a weather vane. The Owl will be on a small lamppost just next to the tree. The final piece of dialogue to watch for will be "Hoot! Hoot!".
  • 3rd Location: While still in the rainy biome, the final Owl will be on the opposite side of the spider tree and weather vane where the 2nd encounter took place. The Owl will once again be sitting on a lamppost. The last piece of dialogue the Owl will offer will once again be a simple "Hoot! Hoot!".

White Bird

This bird only appears during the day. In the Spring biome (with the flowers blooming and very green grass), there will be a birdbath just next to a windmill and a Monolith. The bird is sitting in the birdbath. The last piece of dialogue this bird will offer the player before it starts to repeat itself will be a short and simple "Tweeeet!".

  • 2nd Location: In the same area as the previous encounter (with the windmill and Monolith), the bird will be sitting on a different birdbath. Following suit with the first interaction, the final piece of dialogue the bird will offer players here will simply be "Tweeeet!".
  • 3rd Location: In roughly the middle of the Cherry Blossom biome (the pink colored area). The White Bird will once again be sitting on a birdbath. Not to steer too far from previous habits, the final piece of dialogue offered during this scenario will be "Tweeeeeet!".

Paradise Marsh is available now on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Series S, and PC.
