Although every part of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has its fans, there is an overwhelming majority of readers that have a clear favorite among each section. Most fans believe that Part 7: Steel Ball Run is the peak of the story, eclipsing any other part of the story from the old universe that came before it. Still, since each part before, including Part 1, is beloved by the community in general and possesses its own group of fans, overall it’s really hard to pin down which JoJo’s parts the fan base doesn’t like.

Outside of Part 1, which suffers from a lot of the series’ growing pains, at one point in time, a little before it received an anime release, many fans regarded Part 6 as the worst part of the series. However, as time passed, and with the help of an adaptation, more and more fans grew to appreciate Part 6 in a multitude of different ways. Still, this initial hatred has left many fans wondering why the part left a bad taste in the mouths of many JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fans.

Stone Ocean Also Features One Of The Most Bizarre Endings Of Any Part

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean follows the journey of Jolyne Cujoh, the daughter of Jotaro after she has been sent to prison for a crime she didn’t commit. After meeting Jotaro in prison, her father’s memories and Stand are taken by the priest of the prison, the main antagonist Pucci, causing him to slowly start to die in a comatose state. From here, Jolyne must save her father’s life by recovering his memories and taking down Father Pucci from completing his goals.

By the end of the part, after amassing a group of allies and uncovering Pucci’s plot to reset and change the universe in order to attain Heaven, the main cast confronts the priest. However, unlike the previous parts, Pucci ends up defeating the entire group, killing everyone, including Jotaro and Jolyne, except for Emporio, who escapes to the new universe and defeats Pucci. Still, despite the universe resetting, since Jolyne and her friends died before the transfer to the new universe, they are replaced with nearly identical people who live similar lives in a new universe.

Firstly, one of the main things that fans initially didn’t like about the part was the finale, which acted as a sort of send-off to the original JoJo’s universe. For some, this was too large of an event that killed off some of the most beloved characters in the series, as well as almost completely ruining any chances of a future part in the original timeline. Overall, this big finale was just too much for some JoJo’s fans to handle.

At the same time, other fans weren’t happy with the characters of Part 6, citing that they were weaker than previous parts. For some members of the community, Pucci and Jolyne lacked interesting motivations of their own, with the iconic JoJo's characters, Dio and Jotaro, respectively, causing most of their actions in the part. At the same time, many other fans thought the protagonist and antagonist of Part 6 were just as interesting as any other part, with some going as far as to accuse other fans of disliking Jolyne simply because she is a woman in a show that is often dominated by men.

Still, at the same time, Part 7 became widely regarded as the best JoJo’s part soon after, showing that all fans needed was a bit of time to become acclimated to the changes.

Eventually, over time, although it was jarring at first, the changes brought about by JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean were eventually accepted by the community. With this, more fans learned to appreciate JoJo’s most underrated part, with only a small number of fans still hating the part. In the end, though Part 6 didn’t start as the most beloved part, all it took was a bit of time before it was accepted by the community.
