Elder Madox is an NPC in Path of Exile 2 who gives away a free Unique to any player who manages to locate him in the game, allowing them to choose a favorite from a random collection.
For those familiar with the endgame of PoE 2, this works exactly like the Moment of Zen’s Nameless Seer. The only difference is that, unlike the Nameless Seer, Elder Madox’s stock can be rerolled. Where to Find Elder Madox in Path of Exile 2
Elder Madox Location
Elder Madox can be found in Kriar Peaks in the Interludes of Path of Exile 2. He is located in an isolated corner of the map along a narrow offbeat path near a checkpoint.
An easy way to find Elder Madox in Kriar Peaks is to look for the blue spirit birds near checkpoints (pictured below).
The ethereal blue spirit birds only appear when players are near Elder Madox’s location, with the very first one appearing right next to the checkpoint. Once you spot one of these birds, start exploring the nearby area to find the solitary path that leads to Elder Madox.

How to Reroll Elder Madox’s Uniques
Elder Madox lets players choose a free Unique item of their choice from a small random selection. These Uniques can be rerolled. However, the process to do so is fairly involved, as simply creating a new instance or waiting for the stock to refresh does nothing.
From our testing, the only way to reset Elder Madox’s shop is to raise the level of the Kriar Peaks map. To do so, you’ll need to complete two crucial steps:
- Increase the level of your character.
- Complete any quest in the game.
If the current level of Kriar Peaks is Level 56, for example, raising the level to 57 will reset all Uniques in Elder Madox’s stock. And the only confirmed way to do that is by both leveling up once and completing a quest. You can check the current level of Kriar Peaks by hovering over the map icon in the World Map screen.
Elder Madox’s Uniques can only be rerolled if you haven’t already received an item from him. If you have, there is no going back.
Note that Elder Madox can only offer Uniques from the global drop pool. Boss-exclusive Uniques like Morior Invictus or Temporalis cannot appear in his shop.
