Where to Find Frozen Mandibles in Path of Exile 2
Frozen Mandibles Spawn Location
Frozen Mandibles can be found in Ashen Forest in the Interludes of the campaign in Path of Exile 2. After the completion of Act 4, choose the option “Travel to Mount Kriar.” From here, head north to reach the entrance of the Ashen Forest.
A confirmed rare Frozen Mandibles monster spawns near one of the checkpoints in Ashen Forest. Since maps in Path of Exile 2 are randomly generated for every instance, it’s impossible to provide an exact location for where you can find these monsters in-game. Luckily, all Ashen Forest maps share similarities that make it easy to give accurate directions.
Every Ashen Forest map contains five checkpoints in total.
- The first checkpoint is right next to The Glade entrance.
- The second checkpoint is next to the exit, leading to Kriar Village.
- The third checkpoint is next to an Ancient Monument point of interest.
- The fourth checkpoint is next to a large spider pit in the corner of the map.
- The fifth checkpoint is where the Frozen Mandibles spawn (pictured above).
As long as you find all five checkpoints, you should easily identify where the Frozen Mandibles are located.

If you’re looking for a certain modifier like Haste Aura on a Rare Frozen Mandibles for the Tame Beast or Bind Spectre skill, the checkpoint nearby makes it very easy to reroll the monster’s modifiers. Here’s how it works.
- Locate the Frozen Mandibles in Ashen Forest, but don’t kill it.
- Activate the checkpoint nearby.
- Check the Frozen Mandibles’ modifiers.
- If they are not what you need, pause the game and select “Respawn at Checkpoint.”
- All monsters in the entire map will be reset, including the Frozen Mandibles, which will now have different modifiers.
- Repeat Step 3 until you find the ideal Tame Beast/Bind Spectre target.
If you accidentally kill the Frozen Mandibles, choosing the “Respawn at Checkpoint” option will not make it respawn. You’ll need to reset the instance to find it again.
The Frozen Mandibles spawns alongside another rare monster. For easy farming, kill the other monster so that it doesn’t respawn when you reset the map.
