From Nothing Diamond is a unique Jewel in Path of Exile 2 and one of the most build-defining items a player can get, provided it rolls favorably.
Naturally, obtaining a From Nothing Diamond is anything but simple, as it requires either a pinnacle boss-ready endgame character that’s fully kitted out in powerful gear or a hefty purse loaded with tradeable currency.

Vaal Orbs are a key part of the endgame crafting loop in Path of Exile 2, with multiple possible outcomes that the game doesn’t really explain.
How to Get From Nothing Diamond in PoE 2
The From Nothing Diamond is an exclusive drop obtainable by defeating the King in the Mists, the pinnacle Ritual boss, in +4 Crux of Nothingness Difficulty. To access this encounter, you will need to meet the following requirements.
- Level up the Ritual Atlas tree until you have +4 to Crux of Nothingness. This requires that you either beat the King in the Mists multiple times at lower difficulties or pay for a carry from other players who can level up your Atlas tree for you.
- Use ‘An Audience With the King’ at the Realmgate in the Atlas to access the boss fight.
If the aforementioned conditions are met, there is a chance—not a guarantee—that the King in the Mists will drop a From Nothing Diamond upon death. Unfortunately, this is by far the rarest drop from this boss fight, one you will likely have to grind repeatedly to obtain.
How Does From Nothing Diamond Work in PoE 2
The From Nothing Diamond is a bit of an oddity amongst Jewels and works unlike anything else in Path of Exile 2. Here is what it does and how to use it properly.
When socketed, a From Nothing Diamond will create a small radius around a Keystone in the passive tree, and players will be able to use their passive skill tree points to allocate any of the nodes inside that radius without having to path towards them inside the tree. This allows players to save passive skill points they would otherwise have had to spend in order to path towards a skill. This also allows players to get skills on the other side of the tree, ones they would never have a chance of obtaining in any other way.
The From Nothing Jewel will always have a Small Radius.
To balance this, every From Nothing Diamond comes with a pre-selected Keystone, which it will create a radius around once it is socketed into a Jewel socket. Keystones are the large nodes in the passive skill tree that drastically change how a character is played. They are denoted by a thick golden border. This stat cannot be altered in any way, shape, or form because the item itself cannot be crafted on after it drops. This is because all From Nothing Jewels are corrupted on spawn, which prevents the use of any sort of currency on them.
The only reliable way to obtain the perfect From Nothing with the correct Keystone for your build is by trading with other players on the trade site.

How to Search For From Nothing Diamonds on PoE 2 Trade Site
Full search functionality for searching for specific Keystones on a From Nothing Jewel has been implemented on the trade site, but the process is still different from what players might be using for other items. Filtering for a specific passive skill is actually quite simple. Here’s what you need to do:
- Open the PoE 2 trade site and search for ‘From Nothing Diamond’ in the main bar.
- Click ‘Add Stat Filter’ under Stat Filters and type the name of the Keystone you’re looking for (example: Conduit).
- Select the filter that comes up saying “Passives in Radius of…” and hit Search.
If you type Resonance, for example, it will bring up a filter that says, ‘Passives in Radius of Resonance can be allocated without being connected.’
You can only have one From Nothing Jewel active in a character’s passive skill tree at one time.
