Akthi and Anundr are two side bosses in Path of Exile 2 that players will have to fight as part of a quest for Risu during the Interlude chapter in the Vastiri desert. While they aren't particularly special or difficult, players will have to wrangle both of these monsters at the same time, which can be a little problematic if their builds aren't strong enough to handle two bosses at once. We'll be covering where you can find these bosses in PoE 2 as well as some other tips on how to beat them and what you can expect to get from them.

Path of Exile 2: How Do Abyssal Pits Work

The Rise of the Abyssal League introduced multiple new mechanics to Path of Exile 2, including Abyssal Pits. Here’s how they work.

You can find these bosses somewhere in the Khari Crossing, which is right outside the Khari Bazaar town in the Vastiri Interlude chapter. Despite maps in Path of Exile 2 being randomized, Akthi and Anundr can usually be found in the right side of Khari Crossing, though this might not always be the case for everyone.

While you're out exploring Khari Crossing, look for a large entryway of sorts. This is usually connected to a road spanning across the map, and there's always a checkpoint near it.

Akthi and Anundr Boss Fight and Rewards

Anundr is a giant worm that's more or less the same as The Devourer back in Act 1. It attacks by spitting projectiles and swinging its huge body around, and once its health drops low enough, its tail will start attacking you as well. Meanwhile, Akthi is a giant scorpion with wide attacks that can poison players.

If your build is strong enough to face-tank both bosses, then we suggest hitting Anundr the Sandworm first. If you leave it alone, it'll block the battlefield with its body and severely limit your mobility, making the fight a lot riskier. Akthi is a lot easier to handle. It moves around a lot, but its attacks are fairly easy to dodge.

The one thing players should be concerned about when fighting these bosses is Poison damage. Both Akthi and Anundr can inflict a Poison DoT, which will bypass Energy Shields and directly damage your Life. If you're playing as a caster with high ES and low Life, you might end up getting killed by the boss' poison attacks.

One sure way to avoid Poison damage is to use an Antidote Charm. Equip one of these in your belt, and it'll make you immune to becoming Poisoned as long as the charm has charges.

Rewards

After you beat both bug bosses, you'll get your usual shower of random loot (with a decent chance of getting a Unique item). If it's your first time beating Akthi and Anundr, you'll get a Book of Specialization too as part of the Clearing the Way quest for Risu. Speak with her back at camp to get your bonus skill points. This is just one of the permanent upgrades in Act 4, so make sure you don't miss the rest.
