Path of Exile 2: Corrupted Items Explained
A corrupted tag, like other modifiers, is displayed upon closer inspection of the item. It is important to note that gear with this modifier cannot be upgraded further through crafting. In addition, this effect cannot be undone. At first glance, it may seem that this is a curse that makes items useless. But if used correctly, you have a chance to get the best gear in Path of Exile 2.
How to Get Corrupted Items
There are two ways to get Corrupted items in Path of Exile 2. The first is to find equipment as a drop from Corrupted strongboxes or during the Trial of Chaos. The second way is to craft through Vaal Orbs or Corruption Altars.
Corruption Altars and Vaal Orbs differ only in that the latter can be used in the inventory at any time. At the same time, to Corrupt an item in Corruption Altars, you need to visit a specific location, namely Vaal Ruins.
The result of Corrupting an item in Path of Exile 2 will be a random outcome, ranging from rerolling all modifiers to leaving no changes. Unfortunately, players have almost no influence on what effect they will receive. The exception is Omen of Corruption, which removes the No Changes option from the list of possible outcomes for your next Corruption. Below you will find all the random results when crafting Corrupted items in Path of Exile 2.
