The Vaal Temple is the main attraction in the Path of Exile 2 Fate of the Vaal league, and it serves as an optional dungeon for players to grind. The ever-shifting chambers of the temple lets players configure the layout of the dungeon itself, making it easier or harder to complete depending on how rooms are placed.

Alas, having such freedom to create a layout also means players are bound to make mistakes. If you're not satisfied with how your Vaal Temple is looking in PoE 2, here are some things you can try to reset it.

Vaal Orbs are a key part of the endgame crafting loop in Path of Exile 2, with multiple possible outcomes that the game doesn’t really explain.

How to Redo Vaal Temple Layout in Path of Exile 2

Unfortunately, there's no way to instantly reset your temple as of writing. If you want to get rid of some of the rooms you've placed, you'll have to either clear your current temple layout, or leave as soon as you enter it.

By completing or leaving your Vaal Temple, some of the rooms inside will Destabilize, causing them to vanish. This won't apply to all rooms, but it should be enough to give you some space to work with in your next run.

Rooms like Reliquaries and Vaults of Reverence will Destabilize only once you've completed them. Others will Destabilize once the temple closes, but only if specified.

If you want to make some more significant progress, then you'll have to fight the Royal Architect or Atziri herself. Beating the Architect will cause some of your temple's rooms to disappear, while beating Atziri will cause an entire reset. Dying to either of these bosses may also lead to the same outcome, though this may get changed in future patches.

If you somehow end up blocking the way to Atziri, then killing the Architect is your best hope of resetting your temple.

How to Avoid Bricking Your Temple

The first thing you need to know is you don't need to place every room before starting a run. If you don't get any good pathway tiles, or if all you get are encounter rooms that lead to dead ends, then consider running your temple as-is. You won't make any progress toward the Architect, Atziri, or any of the special rooms you've placed, but at least you won't end up with a mess of random chambers.

Second, if you do want to increase the number of rooms in your temple without potentially bricking all of it, whether it's for farming currency items or other things, focus on just one side of the board. Leave the left or right halves of the temple layout free, then use them to create pathways to other rooms further down the line. Try to make a straight corridor leading to the Architect or Atziri as much as possible.
