- Fans eagerly await news on the cast and plot details for the upcoming season.
With no release date or solid story details, American Horror Story season 13 has a lot of question marks surrounding it, and fans are curious about which actors could return. There's a good chance that Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will come back as, in an interview with Variety in 2024, creator/showrunner Ryan Murphy said he talked to them about it. Of course, the characters and plot points are always a mystery until the new season premieres, but there are usually at least a few hints about what fans can expect. Right now, fans don't have any updates, and they're eagerly waiting for news.
Jessica Lange said she wouldn't be in AHS season 13, and another former cast member recently addressed their possible return in an interview.
American Horror Story Season 13 Should Use This One Aspect Of American Horror Stories (& It Could Be The Best Season Yet)
American Horror Story season 13 could be great if it is inspired by the best part of the dark and compelling spinoff series American Horror Stories.
What Did Patti LuPone Say About American Horror Story Season 13?
In a recent interview with Gold Derby, Patti LuPone answered a question about Ryan Murphy hoping "to bring the group back together for Season 13." LuPone asked about the group, and the reporter said, “I imagine the really, really cool people, and you would be one of them.” LuPone said:
"Yeah, I don’t think so... I think he was probably talking about the guys.”
Although it doesn't seem like LuPone will come back for American Horror Story season 13, it would be great if she did. While the actress hasn't starred in as many seasons as AHS staple Sarah Paulson, she had unforgettable appearances in American Horror Story: Coven and American Horror Story: NYC. LuPone played a villain named Joan Ramsey in season 3 who is against the witches, and then came back to portray cabaret performer Kathy Pizazz in season 11.
Since LuPone has a beloved and impressive music career, she sings in American Horror Story: NYC, and if she returned for season 13, it would be cool if she played another singer. Some of the best characters on the scary series have been performers, including Elsa Mars, whom Jessica Lange portrayed in Freak Show. Kathy and Elsa are both larger-than-life figures who viewers can't stop watching, and there's no doubt that the talented LuPone would give another impressive performance if she came back.
Most of all, though, it's fun to see former American Horror Story cast members in every season. Viewers like guessing who could come back, and since no actor plays the exact same character twice, it's interesting to see their range. For example, Emma Roberts has played a pregnant actress who doesn't know whom to trust, a final girl caught up in a killer's evil plans, a witch, and a con artist. Since some have wondered if season 13 is going to be the end of the chilling Ryan Murphy series, it would be cool to see most of the former actors return.
Fans would also be glad if LuPone played another AHS role. A few years ago, Redditor @tommyc2696 started a thread and wrote, "I hope to see her again on AHS in the future!" Redditor @CryOutLoud131 replied:
"there's never enough Patti. Please bring her back."
Patti LuPone's Other Great TV Roles Prove She Would Be Perfect For American Horror Story Season 13
Patti LuPone has played many compelling TV roles, and she has shown her versatility as an actress. She could jump back into American Horror Story and play a villain again or a naive character who gets swept up in a strange and unsettling situation. Most recently, she played witch Lilia Calderu on Agatha All Along season 1. Although it's a shame that the show is unlikely to get a season 2, it was fun seeing LuPone dive into this character. Episode 7, "Death's Hand in Mine," in particular, allows her to shine as her character allows the show to play with time. Based on that performance alone, many would likely say that of course she should be asked back to AHS.
While LuPone starred on the horror series Penny Dreadful as Joan Clayton and Dr. Florence Seward, she has also appeared in many sitcoms, from 30 Rock to Touched By An Angel to F is for Family. While it's unclear if American Horror Story season 13 will feature funny moments like some of Ryan Murphy's other shows or lean into an even darker storyline than usual, many fans would be glad to see LuPone come back.
