On its official Twitter account, Payday 3 teased an upcoming content announcement scheduled for May 26. This tease comes as an answer to a Payday 3 fan asking for fresh content, while the game is at a 60% discount on Steam. In November 2024, Starbreeze announced that it would scale back its development team and significantly lower investment as Payday 3 entered year two. The company explained that after fixing the major issues that plagued Payday 3 upon its launch, the development team could now focus on other projects. This doesn’t seem to mean that Payday 3 won’t receive any additional content, as more information about what’s next for the heist FPS seems to be approaching on May 26.

New Content Might Be Coming To Payday 3

Details on the May update are scarce, but community chatter centers on Armor 2.0, the revamped protection system promised last year yet delayed by backend issues and prioritization challenges. Payday 3’s Armor 2.0 would introduce new armor customization options, features teased in developer blogs but sidelined with no release window.
