Most items will make climbing rocks easier or cure status effects, but it is worth noting that they increase your weight, so you will want to take only the most necessary ones with you. Here's a look at every item in PEAK and what each of them does.

Below, we've listed every new item in PEAK's ROOTS Update so that you can stay informed about what awaits you in this biome. How To Get & Use PEAK Items

At the plane crash site, players can find several starting items, such as a flare, a compass, a lantern, etc. For the most part, beginners will take them in their backpacks, thinking that they will come in handy when climbing the mountain. However, in reality, many items will only take up your inventory slots. As such, you will be better off looking for luggage chests scattered around the island.

Each such chest contains random items, including food, tools, healing items, and much more. They will significantly increase your chances of reaching the peak, even if you fall several times. However, the game does not directly say what each item does. Below, we have compiled all the PEAK items we found and described their functions.

New PEAK Items Added in the ROOTS Update

Fortified Milk	Grants 15 seconds of fall damage immunity.	Found in luggage.
Mandrake	Eaten to cure Spore/zombie bites, but screams for 33% Sleep effect until thrown or eaten.	Foraged in the ROOTS biome.
Bounce Fungus	Thrown at surfaces to provide a jump pad.	Foraged in the ROOTS biome.
Rescue Claw	A grapple hook that allows you to launch towards wherever you shoot with moderate range. Has a total of 3 charges. It can also be used to pull unconscious scouts.	Found in luggage.
Checkpoint Flag	Plant it into the ground to set a respawn anchor for whoever placed it, but only works once.	Found in luggage.
Book of Bones	Read to turn yourself into a skeleton to become immune to Spore, Hunger, Sleep, Heat, Cold, and Poison, but double the damage of falls and explosions. It can also be used to resurrect the dead.	Mystical Item – Found randomly in Ancient Luggage and Ancient Statues.
Blue Shroomberry	Paralyzes you for 5 seconds, but fixes Hunger, and causes 5% Spores.	Foraged in the ROOTS biome.
Green Shroomberry	Hides your Stamina bar with fungus for a limited time, while curing some Hunger and providing 5% Spores.	Foraged in the ROOTS biome.
Purple Shroomberry	Makes you randomly fart explosive gas, cures some Hunger, and gives 5% Spores.	Foraged in the ROOTS biome.
Red Shroomberry	Cures Hunger and Cures 10% Spores.	Foraged in the ROOTS biome.
Yellow Shroomberry	Provides Infinite Stamina for 3 seconds, cures some Hunger, but gives 5% Spores.	Foraged in the ROOTS biome.
Hot Dog	Restores a huge amount of hunger when cooked.	Found at every Campfire. (Interchangeable with marshmallows)

Balloon	Reduces your falling speed. If you attach enough balloons, you will begin to float.	Found in luggage.
Dynamite	Ignites when players get close, explodes in a huge area for massive health damage after a few seconds. Can be thrown.	Found in the MESA biome.
Parasol	Allows you to float down from heights, ignoring fall damage. Can fly on Tornadoes and protects user from the sun in the MESA biome.	Found in luggage.
Scout Cannon	Place it on the ground, and launch yourself and teammates through the air.	Found in luggage.

Heat Pack	Cures frostbite status and also prevents freezing while active.	Found in luggage.
Medicinal Root	Heals all status ailments.	Foraged in the SHORE, TROPICS, and ROOTS biomes.

Napberry	Puts you to sleep, then removes all status effects and fully heals you when you wake up.	Foraged in the TROPICS biome.
Pandora’s Lunchbox	Applies a random status effect and has 3 charges.	Mystical Item – Found randomly in Ancient Luggage and Ancient Statues.
Remedy Fungus	Throw to create a cloud of spores that heals all players in the radius.	Foraged in the SHORE, TROPICS, and MESA biomes.

Big Lollipop	Grants infinite stamina for a short time, after which it places a sleep effect on the user.	Found in luggage.
Clusterberry	Restores a medium amount of hunger. Red Clusterberry restores 20 health, Green restores 30 poison.	Foraged from roots in the TROPICS biome.
Coconut	Can be cracked in half for two edible coconut halves, which can be cooked for more hunger restoration.	Foraged from trees in the SHORE biome.
Crispberry	Restores a small amount of hunger. Green Crispberries are poisonous.	Foraged from bushes in the SHORE and TROPICS biomes.
Egg	Can be cracked open and cooked to create a Fried Egg within the CALDERA biome.	Found in the CALDERA biome.
Energy Drink	Greatly increases your climbing speed for a short time, then inflicts a sleep status effect.	Found in luggage.
Granola Bar	Restores hunger and boosts stamina.	Found in luggage.
Honeycomb	Restores a medium amount of HP, but is surrounded by wasps.	Foraged from Bee Hives in the TROPICS biome.

Anti-Rope Spool	Like the Anti-Rope Cannon, this rope has reverse gravity and rises upward.	Mystical Item – Found randomly in Ancient Luggage and Ancient Statues.
Backpack	Can hold up to four additional items, can be equipped to increase your inventory space.	Found at the start of the SHORE biome and by every campfire.
Blowgun	Fires a dart that instantly stuns the target.	Found in luggage.
Bugle	Just a musical instrument.	Found at the start of the SHORE biome.
Bugle of Friendship	Players gain infinite stamina for about 10 seconds, but the item has an extremely limited charge.	Mystical Item – Found randomly in Ancient Luggage and Ancient Statues.
Chain Launcher	Shoot to attach a chain that you can climb.	Found in luggage.
Compass	Points to the north.	Found in luggage.
Flare	Throw to create a smoke signal for your teammates.	Found in luggage.
Lantern	Brightens the area around you and also warms from frostbite (has a limited charge).	Found in luggage.
Magic Bean	Throw to create a vertical structure that can be climbed.	Found randomly on walls.
Pirate’s Compass	Points to the nearest unopened luggage chest.	Mystical Item – Found randomly in Ancient Luggage and Ancient Statues.
Piton	Attach to a wall to create a safe zone where you can rest and restore stamina, but each use destroys the item.	Found in luggage.
Rope Cannon	Fires an arrow with a short rope that hangs down.	Found in luggage.
Rope Spool	A long rope that can be split and attached to surfaces.	Found in luggage.
Shelf Fungus	Throw to create a mushroom platform.	Foraged in the SHORES, TROPICS, and MESA biome.
Scoutmaster’s Bugle	Use to spawn Scoutmaster.	Mystical Item – Found randomly in Ancient Luggage and Ancient Statues.
Warp Compass	Randomly teleports the user to a teammate's location.	Mystical Item – rarely found in luggage, usually acquired via the Ancient Statue (unobtainable in-game)

Bing Bong	A small, strange plush toy. Bring Bing Bong to the top of the Peak to earn an achievement.	Found at the start of the SHORE biome.
Binoculars	Allows players to zoom in their view over a long distance. Useful for scouting.	Found in luggage.
Conch	Can be thrown. No other purpose.	Found at the start of the SHORE biome.
Flying Disc	Can be thrown between players – throw it over 100 m to earn an achievement.	Found at the start of the SHORE biome.
Portable Stove	Place on the ground to cook food (also cures the frostbite effect).	Found in luggage.
Tick	Saps away your health slowly, but can be pulled off to restore lost HP. Look down or get a teammate to help.	Can randomly appear on your body while traveling through the TROPICS biome.
