Aggro Crab has stated that it would rather players pirate its popular co-op game Peak than play a blatant Roblox knock-off called Cliff. Peak has been a major hit since its June 2025 release, with players praising its engaging and fun gameplay—though it looks like its success attracted a copy, and Aggro Crab is not happy about it.
Peak came out on June 16 and immediately blew up on Steam, selling over 1 million copies in six days and becoming one of the most-played games on the platform the weekend right after its release. Peak joined the popular wave of co-op multiplayer indie games being released on Steam, bringing players a fun experience where they must scale a mountain. What makes Peak so appealing is its polished climbing mechanics, where even a small mistake can complicate the whole mission. While the game can be played solo, its co-op mechanics really amp up the fun, letting players help each other by using ledges or placing ropes to make the path easier for the rest of the climbing team. As it happens with breakout hits, Peak’s popularity has sparked a copy, and the developer has a strong opinion about it.
Popular New Co-Op Game on Steam Reveals Future Plans
As an extremely popular co-op Steam game climbs its way into gamers’ favorites, the developers reveal what’s next with plans for the future.
Aggro Crab Slams Roblox Knock-Off of Peak Named Cliff
Taking to Twitter, developer Aggro Crab called out a recent Roblox knock-off of Peak called Cliff. Aggro Crab said it would rather see players pirate its game than play Roblox’s “slop ripoff.” Alongside its message, Aggro shared two pictures of Cliff, which show how strikingly similar the game’s visuals are to its popular co-op game Peak. The Cliff creator didn’t seem to care about hiding it, as the promotional image looks almost identical—and so do the character designs.
One thing that seems to bug Aggro Crab a lot is Roblox’s microtransactions, as it calls Cliff “microtransaction-riddled.” While the Cliff creator did credit Peak in the game’s description, saying the game was "inspired" by it, it seems as though even the description reads similarly to Peak—with the same strong emphasis on co-op gameplay and teamwork mechanics.
Nevertheless, Peak continues to be very popular on Steam, currently holding a “Very Positive” rating on the platform and a substantial number of active players. Aggro Crab recently added cannibalism to Peak, a new mechanic that basically enables players to eat their teammates when the hunger meter hits about 70%—which helps the player recover stamina, but kills the other person. Beyond this fun new mechanic, the developer has also been introducing new features, balance changes, and plenty of fixes to keep improving the game’s experience.
