The viral co-op climbing game PEAK has just received its first big update. Players got new materials to try, new achievements, and more ways to customize characters. One of these new achievements is called Resourcefulness.
Resourcefulness is one of the funniest (and most evil) achievements in the game. Your friends might not be too happy with you when you complete it, but once you pull it off, you’ll earn a cool cosmetic as a reward. This guide details how to unlock the Resourcefulness badge in PEAK.
How To Earn PEAK’s Resourcefulness Badge
To earn the Resourcefulness badge, the game asks you to ‘give in to your hunger.’ And yes, that means exactly what you think. It wants you to eat your friends.
This slightly disturbing feature was added in the July 29 update. PEAK players can now eat their teammates to fill their hunger bar. Wait until your hunger drops to about 60%, then walk up to a friend. Weirdly enough, they will now look like a chicken to you. Just press the button that you see on your screen.
Eating your teammate will, unsurprisingly, kill them instantly. But it will also give you a big stamina boost. On the plus side, you can pick up all the items they were carrying. Don’t worry, though; it’s not permanent. They can still be revived using a Scout Effigy or by interacting with the statue at the top of a biome.
One thing to keep in mind is that you will get hit with the Curse status effect afterward, which can be pretty annoying. It’s not fun, but it’s not the end of the world either.
The easiest way to cure it is to use a Cure-All, which removes Curse and any other debuffs you might have. PEAK fans can also try Pandora’s Lunchbox, but it’s a gamble. The lunchbox does wipe all your current debuffs, but it might give you new ones. These new effects could be good, or they could make your life even harder, so only use it if you are feeling lucky (or desperate).
If your character is hungry, but your teammate is not turning into a chicken, it probably means the cannibalism feature is turned off. You can switch it on from the main menu, earn the badge, and then turn it off again if you want to keep things friendly.
Resourcefulness Badge Reward in PEAK
When you complete this mischievous achievement, you’ll earn the Evil Smile cosmetic. It’s a perfectly fitting reward. An evil smile for a truly evil deed.
