The Speed Climber Badge in PEAK rewards players for one thing: climbing fast. Unlike other achievements that focus on exploration, teamwork, or survival, this one is all about pushing yourself to the summit as quickly as possible. This guide covers the best tips to help you complete your run and get the Speed Climber Badge in PEAK.
PEAK: How to Get the Lone Wolf Badge
The Long Wolf Badge is one of the more difficult challenges in PEAK. Here are the best tips to help you get this badge.
How To Get The Speed Climber Badge in PEAK
To get the Speed Climber Badge in PEAK, you’ll need to escape the island in under one hour. This is one of the game’s most challenging but rewarding badges. Earning the Speed Climber Badge unlocks the Messenger Hat cosmetic for your character.
You can attempt this badge in solo or co-op mode in PEAK, but for the best chance, go solo. Larger squads usually slow things down.
Tip #1 – Play on Tenderfoot Difficulty
Your best shot at beating the clock is playing on Tenderfoot difficulty. It cuts down on stamina drain and hunger, which gives you more freedom to just focus on climbing instead of constantly stopping to eat or rest.
Tip #2 – Memorize Your Route
The biggest advantage you can give yourself is memorizing your routes. The more you play, the more familiar you’ll become with the biome layouts and shortcut paths. Take note of which cliff sides are a waste of time, where the cleaner climbs are, and which detours are worth skipping entirely.
If a particular map seems too difficult or too long for a speed run, you can wait for the daily map reset and try again.
Tip #3 – Don’t Loot Unless It’s On Your Path
It’s easy to get distracted by supply crates and luggage, but in a speedrun, looting is time you don’t have. The trick here is to only pick up items that are directly in your path. The only items truly worth grabbing are stamina boosters, like a Big Lollipop or Energy Drink, and other items that make climbing faster. Opening luggage, gathering food, or cooking is just going to burn time. Remember, this run is all about speed, not long-term survival.
Tip #4 – Use Your Boost Items At the Right Time
Big Lollipops and Energy Drinks are your two best friends while speedrunning. Energy drinks increase your movement speed by a small amount, but this adds up over time. Big Lollipops are even more powerful as they give you unlimited stamina for a short time.
A good strategy is to save your Lollipops for those brutal vertical sections where stamina usually drains fast. Using them at the right moment can shave off minutes and save you from costly mistakes.
It may take you a few runs to get the Speed Climber Badge. Each run helps you learn the map better and get faster. Stay patient, keep experimenting with different paths, and you’ll eventually beat the clock and earn that badge.
