How to Get the Compass in PEAK

The Compass is one of the easiest items to find in PEAK. You can get it right after you spawn on the shore after the plane crash. To do so, simply head over to the plane wreckage and look around the floor under the seats, and you should be able to see it lying there. Along with the Compass, you can also find other items like Bing Bong and the Bugle inside the plane.

What Does the Compass in PEAK Do?

Just like in real life, the compass in PEAK can help you find the right way. Players can use it to figure out where to go. To reach the main mountain, you need to head north. If you have the compass, the red side of the needle will always point north so that you won’t get lost.

The compass is really helpful for making sure you don’t take a wrong turn. If you get distracted by luggage or go off the path, it can help you find your way back and figure out where you are.

You can also use the Compass to help bring your friends back if they went the wrong way. The island has tons of loot for players, so it’s normal for teammates to split up sometimes. If your squad has already started climbing and someone gets lost, you can use the Compass to guide them back to the group. That’s pretty much all the Compass does in PEAK. It won’t help you unlock any achievements or make a big difference in your climb later on.

Is the Compass in PEAK Worth It?

The compass can be a useful tool during the early parts of your playthrough, but it does take up a valuable spot in your backpack. That’s why most PEAK players end up dropping it soon after they begin climbing. To say it plainly, you can use the slot it occupies for something much more useful, like the Cursed Skull.

The regular Compass is not really worth keeping for long, but that doesn’t mean you should ignore every Compass you find. The Pirate’s Compass, for example, is actually quite useful because it points you to the nearest unopened luggage.
