The MESA update in PEAK brings about many exciting new items and even new ways to complete the game within minutes. However, this update also brings forth some new mysteries and creepiness to the island that you might be so desperate to escape. Enter the newest mystery of PEAK, the Looker, an entity that is not a myth and does exist for players to find. However, what it is, what it does, and how to spawn it, is entirely a mystery... Or is it? Check out below to find out everything we know about the Looker in PEAK.
Who is the Looker in PEAK?
The Mysterious Orange Scout in PEAK
The Looker is an orange scout who has a random chance to appear in your game, and all he will do is look at you from behind a specific round rock. The Looker wears his Scout's uniform and has no additional cosmetics other than his creepy smile and gentle gaze. As of the MESA update, the Looker doesn't do anything other than stare at you from a distance and remains harmless, but creepy.
The Looker is not controlled by another player, and this NPC character can spawn in solo or public matches. Players will have a 95% chance to find the Looker in their world, and he will always be peeping from behind a rock with an orange sand texture, no matter the level players find him on. If players get too close to the Looker, he will disappear, and if they stare for too long, he will also disappear.
The identity of the Looker is not known, but players on social media can check out the developers of @AggroCrabGames on X (formerly known as Twitter) to see that their profile icon is the same model as the Looker, albeit with a crab helmet. While we don't know who the Looker is, it's expected that this is an evolving easter egg or a playful trolling from the developers using their own in-game avatar, as this isn't the first time they've meddled. Back in June, PEAK's developers were able to communicate with players streaming on Twitch through Bing Bong.
