If players want to make it out alive, they will have to take on massive mountains full of steep cliffs and tough terrain. And it’s not just the climb you need to worry about. There’s poison, frostbite, and lethargy waiting to slow you down. Luckily, there are helpful items to make things a little easier. One of those is the bugle.

There are three types of bugles in PEAK, and each one helps you in a different way. The regular bugle is the one players will come across pretty early in the game. So what exactly does it do, and should you keep it in your backpack? Let’s talk about it.

What Does the Bugle in PEAK Do?

The Bugle is used to create a sound. When you are lost or separated from your team, you can play the Bugle to let them know where you are. That’s really all it does. It won’t heal you, cure status effects, or help you climb.

If you are hunting for badges, there’s one called Animal Serenading. To get it, players will have to play the Bugle for capybaras. These animals hang out in the hot springs in the Alpine region. Find them and blow your Bugle nearby to complete the achievement. Once you do, you will get the Kril Hat.

If you’ve already done the achievement, there is really no reason to keep the Bugle with you. It just takes up space, and you are better off using that slot for something more useful on your climb.

How to Get Bugle in PEAK

Right after the plane crash, you will find yourself on the starting island. Head over to the wreckage, where you will find things like the compass and the Big Bong plushie. The Bugle will also be lying there nearby. Even though PEAK’s map changes every 24 hours, this starting spot stays the same, so you can always count on finding the Bugle there.

There are two other Bugles in PEAK: the Scoutmaster’s Bugle and the Bugle of Friendship. The Scoutmaster’s Bugle is only available in solo mode, and it’s definitely not for the faint of heart. When scouts use it, it spawns the Scoutmaster.

The Scoutmaster is a terrifying monster that can quickly put an end to your climb if you’re not careful. It’s risky, but using it will get you the Mentorship badge.

The Bugle of Friendship is one of the best items you can find in PEAK. When you blow it, your whole squad gets infinite stamina for a little while. PEAK players can find it in the ancient luggage boxes and statue loot.
