PEAK receives its second major update with ROOTS, which replaces the Tropics with an entirely new and deadly biome, ripe with fungus that can turn even the cutest of scouts into flesh-devouring zombies. One of the new achievements and badges added to PEAK's ROOTS update is the Undead Encounter Badge, and it requires players to cure a zombie bite. Below, players can find exactly how they can get bitten by a zombie, how they can cure it, and what reward they will obtain for their bravery.

How to Cure Zombie Bites and Get the Undead Encounter Badge in PEAK

How to Spawn Zombies and Get the Pumpkin Head Cosmetic

In order to cure a zombie bite in PEAK, you will need to consume a Medicinal Root or a Mandrake. Both of these items can commonly spawn in the ROOTS biome, and they are easily found on the ground, noted for their carrot-like appearance with green leaves sticking out of their heads. Be warned, the Mandrake will scream if you take too long eating it. After consuming the Medicinal Root or the Mandrake, your Spores meter will go down and will no longer rise, as you would have cured your zombie bite.

If you are looking to get bitten by a zombie and you're playing in solo, then you just need to explore the ROOTS biome, as eventually you will see the Looker, an orange scout covered in fungus, who will lunge at you and bite you. You will know that you are infected with a zombie bite because the Spores meter by your stamina bar will continue to rise, and if untreated, you will become a zombie once you have no stamina left.

After successfully curing a zombie bite, you will earn the Undead Encounter Badge, an achievement that grants a new badge to your sash and also provides you with the Pumpkin Hat cosmetic.
