The gifting mechanic in the Persona series has long been a useful way for players to take advantage of the life-simulation mechanics of the series while still enjoying the RPG side of the games. Persona 3 Portable in particular feels so much richer and more fun for its balance between action and life-sim, and it can give players a refreshing break from constant fighting that can begin to feel a little monotonous at times. Plus, gaining friendships and developing romances is always a fun addition to any RPG!

One of the characters players can gift is Mitsuru Kirijo. A fellow student alongside the protagonist, she can initially come off as cold and haughty; however, when players get closer to her, they'll find a much kinder side, with Mitsuru often playing the role of mediator and leader within the group. As well as this, she also represents the Empress Arcana, which has some pretty strong Persona behind it. For tips on exactly how to raise those Social Links with Mitsuru through gifts, read on!

Gift Giving In Persona 3 Portable

If players are already familiar with the gifting mechanic in other Persona titles, then they can expect much the same in Persona 3 Portable... Minus one big exception. If the feature is brand new, worry not - we'll explain it all, including the slight quirks to Persona 3 gifting that can help save players a lot of time and effort.

Firstly, players should note that when giving gifts, they can only give gifts to characters who first contact the player to ask to meet up. So this means players that seek out a character will not be able to give them a gift. Keep this in mind when planning which gifts to purchase for particular characters. As well as this, gifts can only be given on Sundays.

Another important distinction to note is that the gender of the protagonist impacts the way that players can give gifts. For instance, female protagonists can give gifts to both women and men; male protagonists can only give gifts to women. On top of this, female protagonists have access to both cooking and sewing, whereas male protagonists do not. This means that players who chose the female protagonist might be at a slight advantage when it comes to being able to procure gifts since male protagonists will have to find gifts in different locations across Tatsumi Port Island. Players should keep this in mind and plan their gifts accordingly!

The Best Gifts For Mitsuru

Alongside every other character that can receive gifts in Persona 3 Portable, Mitsuru has loved gifts and liked gifts. While any gift will give a large boost to points between the player and the character receiving the gift, loved gifts will give slightly more points. It won't make that much of a difference, but it might be something to prioritize for players trying to speed through Social Links.

Mitsuru's taste in gifts matches her upbringing and her mature and intelligent personality well. She enjoys classical Japanese goods and more mature items like branded accessories and perfume. At the same time, though, she has a surprisingly cute side, with teddies and dolls being some of her favorite gifts to receive.
