In Persona 3 Reload, the enemies in Tartarus will get tougher as you advance. Still, it's not just the Gatekeeper Shadows or the Shadows during Full Moon Operations that can provide you with a challenge. Common enemies can easily catch you off guard if you don't know what to expect, and in the worst cases, they can sweep your team. Grave Beetles can be a challenge if you're starting your Persona 3 Reload playthrough. Thus, you'll want to aim for their Affinity weakness to Down them before their turn in battle.

Grave Beetle Stats & Weaknesses

You'll run into your first Grave Beetle after defeating your first Gatekeeper on Floor 5 of Tartarus' Thebel Block. Grave Beetles spawn on Floor 6 up until Floor 15 in Persona 3 Reload. Their level is usually set to level 7, so there's a very high chance you will be at a much higher level yourself when you first encounter one.

However, Grave Beetles have a Pierce and Strike attack that can cut off a quarter of your HP if you're not equipped with good armor. Their Endurance is also quite sturdy, so unless you have armor or weapons with Strength modifiers, you'll be chipping away at its HP if you choose to attack with melee weapons.

Grave Beetles are weak to Wind, so Skills like Garu are perfect for Downing it. When it's knocked over, you can go in for an All-Out Attack, or you can try to inflict the Dizzy status ailment on it by attacking with melee weapons. Enemies that are Downed have a 50% chance of being inflicted with Dizzy. A Dizzy enemy will have its next turn skipped.

How to Get Wind Skills

Garu, Magaru

Yukari's Persona, Io, has Garu. As she levels, she'll gain access to Magaru and higher-tier Garu Skills. Thus, she's ideal for Downing a Grave Beetle. If Yukari is equipped with armor or accessories that raise her Agility, then she has a chance of moving before the Grave Beetle in battle.

If you'd prefer the protagonist to have Garu, then you should try and get the Angel Persona card from Shuffle Time. They will have Garu in their Skill Set, and if you fuse them with another Persona, you can potentially transfer Garu onto something stronger.

Grave Beetle's Endurance means it can withstand hits, so you'll want a user with strong Magic to use Garu. You'll have the option to go for an All-Out Attack when you Down it, but you may need a few extra turns before you can defeat it.
