Golden shadows are some of the best shadows to fight when you're looking to farm experience or money in Persona 3 Reload. Each block in Tartarus has a different type of golden shadow with its own weaknesses and resistances. The Opulent Hand occupies the first block of Tziah. Though they look just like Invaluable Hands and Luxury Hands, their Affinity weakness and Skills are not the same. If you're hoping to Down it in one hit, then you'll want to bring a Persona or a party member that excels in Physical Skills.
Persona 3 Reload: Amorous Snake Weakness
The Amorous Snake is the first boss in the Monad Passage on the Harabah Block in Persona 3 Reload, so here's how to beat it.
How to Beat Opulent Hand
Which Personas and Party Members Should You Bring?
Opulent Hands can be found on the first half of the Tziah Block (119-144), which unlocks on 9/10. Like any other rare shadow, their chances of spawning are slim. However, you can potentially increase their appearance rate by drawing a Rarity Fortune from the Fortune Teller in Club Escapade (evenings only). One Rarity Fortune costs 3000 yen and only lasts the day that you purchase it. Only buy one if you plan on going to Tartarus that same night.
The Opulent Hand shadow has two skills:
- Sukukaja: Increases Accuracy/Evasion for 3 turns.
- Tetrakarn: Reflects incoming physical attacks.
Opulent Hands are weak to Strike Skills. However, if it has already cast Tetrakarn, then the attack will bounce off and harm you/your party. You can get rid of Tetrakarn by attacking with a melee weapon, which inflicts less damage than using a Persona's attack. Sukukaja will make it easier to avoid incoming attacks, but one way you can counter this is to cast Sukukaja/Masukukaja on yourself. You can also use Dekaja to get rid of any buffs the Opulent Hand places on itself.
How to Down Opulent Hand
At this point, you should have a variety of Personas with different Skills. If not, then you can potentially get the Oni Persona from Shuffle Time on Tziah (first block). Oni has a weak Strike Skill (Bash) that will Down the Opulent Shadow if it sticks the landing. Again, you've probably fused Personas with much stronger Strike Skills, so be sure to have them on hand.
If you want to avoid using Physical Skills, then you can bring certain party members. Akihiko's melee attacks inflict Strike damage, so you won't even have to summon his Persona. If you're on a new playthrough or a NG+, then you'll likely have Shinjiro, who also attacks with Strike. However, keep in mind that Shinjiro is permanently removed from your party after October 10/4. So, if you're farming Opulent Hands post-October, have Akihiko in your party when exploring Tziah's first block.
