The upcoming remake Persona 3 Reload has announced its voice cast, with none of the old dub actors reprising their roles. Instead, a fresh cast is being slotted in to play the game's iconic characters. Earlier at the Xbox Games Showcase, Atlus revealed a number of titles that caught the attention of fans. There was the strategy RPG Persona 5 Tactica, featuring the Phantom Thieves on yet another adventure, the formal reveal of Project Re: Fantasy, Metaphor: ReFantazio by Atlus' Studio Zero, and the biggest news of them all, the announcement of Persona 3 Reload. There were rumors and leaks of the third game being remade throughout 2023, especially since it's one game that fans wanted to see getting overhauled. One of the big questions regarding a remake of Persona 3 was the voice cast. The original dub of the game was considered one of the best back in 2006, with many having fond memories of the performances from the likes of Yuri Lowenthal, Tara Platt, and Liam O'Brien that still resonate with fans to this day. Shortly after the remake's reveal, though, it was revealed that the entire party is being replaced by new voice actors. The voice actor for all eight party members have been confirming their roles on Twitter, which consist of both names fans may know from other franchises like Genshin Impact, Fire Emblem, or Final Fantasy. This includes Aleks Le, Zeno Robinson, Dawn M. Bennet, Alejandro Saab, and Allegra Clark, who will be playing the Persona 3 Protagonist, Junpei Iori, Aigis, Akihiko Sanada, and Mitsuru Kirijo. The full list of credits has yet to be revealed, but it's very likely that all previous social links and character performances will be replaced in the game's English dub as well.

- Zeno Robinson as Junpei Iori (replacing Vic Mignogna)
- Heather Gonzalez as Yukari Takeba (replacing Michelle Ruff)
- Dawn M. Bennet as Aigis (replacing Karen Strassman)
- Alejandro Saab as Akihiko Sanada (replacing Liam O'Brien)
- Allegra Clark as Mitsuru Kirijo (replacing Tara Platt)

The reactions to the new cast have been mixed, though mostly positive. Many fans are happy to see some of these actors in roles that fit perfectly, while others were sad that they won't be able to hear some of the old performances, especially players that are more nostalgic. Others were relieved to see some cast members being replaced, most notably Junpei Iori's former actor Vic Mignonga, who had been in a string of controversies and lawsuits.
The trailer for Persona 3 Reload shows that this game is a ground-up remake of the 2006 original, with completely new character models, environments, and maps to explore. Some of the cutscenes in the game have also been redone, where instead of a completely 2D anime scene, models are used that resemble some of Persona 5's cutscenes. The remake will, however, feature newly animated 2D cutscenes as well. With this game being a complete remake, the recast likely occurred to match the higher standard Atlus is aiming for.
Persona 3 Reload will launch in early 2024 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
