If Persona 4 gets a remake before Persona 6 releases, then the series would do well to take a page out of Kingdom Hearts' book afterward. With Persona 6 yet to have any concrete details, much less a release date, Persona's overall future is a bit of a mystery at the moment. A Persona 4 remake is probably in the cards, especially considering how well Persona 3 Reload performed. A Persona 4 remake with similar improvements could repeat that level of success. At the same time, it would open the door for the series to make another significant move.

The improvements made to Persona 3 Reload made it a worthwhile game to seek out, even for those who played the original years ago. From the many new mechanics like Theurgies, to something as simple as letting players directly control their party members, Persona 3 Reload was a big step up from its original iteration gameplay-wise. Not to mention, it managed to revive interest in Persona 3 and its characters, letting a lot of newer players experience a great story in the process. After how well Persona 3 Reload turned out, a similar kind of remake for Persona 4 should not be ruled out.

A Persona Remake Bundle Could be a Good Move After a Persona 4 Remake

Persona 3 Reload Showed How Well a Persona 4 Remake Could Go

If Atlus makes a remake of Persona 4, much of the same design philosophy from Persona 3 Reload could be reused. While Persona 4's gameplay is not quite as dated as Persona 3's was, later-series updates like Baton Pass would be excellent additions to the formula. While Persona 4 had a previous rerelease in Persona 4 Golden, that game is over a decade old at this point. A remake would ensure that there are current-gen versions of Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5 on the market. In addition to that convenience, it would give Atlus the chance to make another good move.

A Persona Trilogy Could Be a Great Deal For Players

Atlus could make something like the Kingdom Hearts All-In-One Package game collection, which features all of the games in the series to date. Releasing a Persona 4 remake would be the perfect setup for such a plan. After all, Persona 3 was the game that really established the current Persona formula, so having it and its successors all in one place seems like a natural choice. The fact that all three games would be as up-to-date as possible would make the package deal even better. If Persona 4 gets remastered, then there's no reason not to follow that up with a trilogy bundle.

A Persona Bundle Would Prepare Players For Persona 6

Of course, the biggest reason to release a Persona bundle before Persona 6's eventual release would be as a refresher for players. Revisiting the modern Persona trilogy would give players the opportunity to immerse themselves in everything that they would expect from the next game in the series. From balancing Social Links with combat to the Persona mechanic itself, it would act as an excellent pick-me-up for players. Granted, Persona 6 will likely add something new to the series formula, similar to past games. Even so, a trilogy bundle would be the best way to get players up to speed ahead of Persona 6.

If Persona 4 gets remastered, then there's no reason not to follow that up with a trilogy bundle.

A Persona 4 remake could set Atlus up for a big event. Not only would any improvements made to Persona 4 boost the game's already high quality, but the opportunity to package all 3 Persona remakes could potentially be an amazing deal. The Persona games have a strong reputation as is, and that's unlikely to change. Anything that the developers can do to get players more excited for Persona 6 could only help. As a result, a trilogy bundle of Persona remakes feels like an excellent opportunity.
