Persona 5 Royal: How to Increase Guts

The Guts stat in Persona 5 Royal is one of the five social stats Joker can buff during his free time. Guts allows Joker to face more threatening situations, and is also required to be a certain rank in order to unlock the Hanged Man confidant. Like the other stats in Persona 5 Royal, there is a diverse range of activities Joker can do to gain points in Guts.

There are a lot of items Joker can use, movies he can see, and part-time jobs he can do that boost Guts. These activities typically boost Guts between +1 and +3 points. It may also be worth checking the calendar, as certain activities and stat boosts only relate to certain dates and times of the day.

Item-Based Ways To Raise Guts

From books to games and DVDs, Joker can gain a lot of Guts just from consuming media. In particular, there are a ton of books that slowly become available at the school library that boost the Guts stat.

Time-Sensitive Ways To Raise Guts

There are a lot of movies that give Joker a Guts boosts, but they are time-sensitive and change each month. There is also the consideration of certain days of the week and the weather for certain activities.

Activities That Are Always Available

Studying in the library always gives Joker some Knowledge, but it also sometimes gives him +1 Guts.
Ordering hot coffee or surprise sandwiches at the Shibuya Central Street diner will get Joker +1 Guts. Sometimes he will gain a Knowledge bonus as well, depending on whether the weather is clear skies or rainy.

If Joker goes to the Maid Cafe of Akihabara and tells the maid to fix her mistake, he will get +1 Guts and +2 Charm
Lastly, there is the part-time job Joker can get at the Shinjuku Crossroads bar. He will require high ranks already in social stats like Proficiency, Charm, and Guts, but he can get +2 Guts if he speaks to the "scary looking man" while he works.

Tae Takemi And The Big Bang Burger Challenge

Tae Takemi is the one confidant that Joker can gain Guts by hanging out with. She is also a useful confidant, so Guts or not, players will want to rank her up to get access to more medicines. She is usually available in the daytime, and not nighttime unless it is raining.

Lastly, there is the Big Bang Burger Challenge. This challenge boosts all social stats except kindness. The Comet Burger will gain +1 Guts, the Gravity Burger will gain +2, and the Cosmic Tower Burger will get +3. There is a lot of reward, making this a must-do activity at some point during the game.
