Pikmin Bloom is the latest mobile title from Nintendo and Niantic, the latter being the developers of Pokemon GO. However, as one would expect, the mobile Pikmin game is less about battling and more about growing plants and flowers with the community and encourages folks to get outside and walk. There are still some similarities, though, as Pikmin Bloom fans can add friends to the game either by QR code or friend code --here's how to do it.
How to Add Friends in Pikmin Bloom
Unlike the Expeditions in Pikmin Bloom, adding friends can be done anytime in the game, regardless of the player's current level. To add friends in Pikmin Bloom, players need to head to the game's main screen and then press on the square that has the player's name and their current level. Once that is pressed, players will enter a different screen, and on the top-left will be a section for Friends in Pikmin Bloom.
Once players make it to the Friend List in Pikmin Bloom, they can search for a friends' username by searching for it in the text bar or pressing the + icon at the top-right to add people via friend codes. Pressing the + icon will also allow players to see their own friend code, as well as a QR code that another player can scan to send a friend request. If players have their account synced up with other Niantic games like Pokemon GO, the added friend will also be a friend in that game.
What Can You Do With Friends in Pikmin Bloom?
So far, it seems that players are able to send postcards to added friends. Postcards will have pictures of a location that a player visited with their Pikmin, which is a neat way for friends to share their experiences with the new Niantic mobile title. Of course, like other mobile offerings, there could be updates for Pikmin Bloom that add more content, including more multiplayer features.
Pikmin Bloom is available worldwide for Android and iOS devices.
