An incredibly patient fan of Minecraft has decided to embark on a time-consuming adventure to create fan-made 3D models from another popular game, Plants vs Zombies. Even people who aren't fans of Minecraft or Plants vs. Zombies could likely agree that this player's work is one of immense dedication.
Minecraft and Plants vs. Zombies have a bit of a history that is synonymous with one another, partly due to the former's beta release in 2009 and the latter's official release in the same year . The two rocked the PC scene for years, quickly branching out to home consoles and even mobile devices. Subsequently, fans were gripping on to any news about them as the years passed. Clearly, Minecraft is still around in a big way to this day, even receiving a feature film starring Jack Black that is set to release in 2025. However, that doesn't mean that there aren't fans of Plants vs. Zombies still out there.
Minecraft Player Shares Epic Build In a World Where Tools, Weapons, and Armor Can't Be Used
A Minecraft player shares an epic build in a world where tools, weapons, and armor cannot be used, drawing mixed reactions from the community.
Reddit user TacoSlayer36 shared an image of every plant from the first Plants vs. Zombies modeled to be used on a Minecraft map they are working on. The Minecraft models are nothing short of impressive, and fans have been commenting and upvoting the image. One user asked the original poster about the map they were working on and the models they intended to use. The original poster responded to that question and shared a link to another Reddit post that shows the models and map in action. It wasn't revealed exactly how these models were made, but the comments reveal that on release, players will need cheats enabled for both the models and the commands required to work properly.
Fan Models of Plants vs Zombies Plants Look Incredible
The image is only a teaser compared to everything planned for the map. Some fellow Minecraft modders are so excited to get their hands on the project that they have contacted the original poster in the replies to discuss being involved somehow. Unfortunately, it looks like those who don't play the Java version of Minecraft will either need to sit this one out or wait until it becomes available to them. The plant models are all incredibly well-made and could be mistaken for genuine Minecraft collaborative content. The video content that TacoSlayer36 showed also looks like the core concept for an entire mod using the models, which might be something to look forward to soon.
Minecraft has only become more popular since its official 2011 release. It's undergone many changes, upgrades, and improvements, especially since Microsoft bought out developer Mojang. However, the love for the franchise hasn't gone anywhere, and now gamers can even expect a film based on it. While Plants vs. Zombies might not have ended up being nearly as popular, the franchise has boomed further than anyone could have imagined, with Plants vs Zombies 3 being announced by developer PopCap. Maybe one day, a true collaboration between the two will happen.

Minecraft is a game made up of blocks, creatures, and community. You can survive the night or build a work of art – the choice is all yours. But if the thought of exploring a vast new world all on your own feels overwhelming, then fear not!
Minecraft has no set goal and can be played however you’d like! This is why it’s sometimes called a “sandbox game” – there are lots of things for you to do, and lots of ways that you can play. If you like being creative, then you can use the blocks to build things from your imagination. If you’re feeling brave, you can explore the world and face daring challenges. Blocks can be broken, crafted, placed to reshape the landscape, or used to build fantastical creations.
Creatures can be battled or befriended, depending on how you play. The world of Minecraft allows for epic adventures, quiet meditations, and everything in between. You can even share your creations with other players, or play in community worlds!
