The Best War Games can exclusively reveal a new gameplay trailer for Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted. Created in the style of a parody livestream, the promo video showcases some of the remaster's key features, including Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted-exclusive permadeath and local co-op modes.
First released in May 2009, the original Plants vs. Zombies is soon making a comeback in the form of an HD remaster. The Replanted version of the game is scheduled for launch on October 23.

Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted Releases Parody Livestream Gameplay Trailer
In the lead-up to its release, Electronic Arts shared a new gameplay trailer for its upcoming title, which The Best War Games can exclusively reveal. The video is presented in the form of a parody livestream hosted on a fictional platform called Twig, starring content creators NoCapShroom and SpudBoi, the latter of whom has an unsurprising fascination with spuds. The trailer highlights some of the game's key features, reiterating that the remaster will deliver an evolved take on the Plants vs. Zombies tower defense formula with the additions of several new modes, including Cloudy Day, Rest in Peace, and local co-op.
Apart from cooperative multiplayer, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted will incorporate a local PvP mode, allowing one of the players to take control of the undead and try to eat the opponent's brains. Both are featured prominently in the new trailer, together with the new permadeath option called Rest in Peace. RIP is an alternate take on the classic Adventure experience that will lock players to a single save file, which gets deleted if they fail a stage. Another challenging—though significantly less punishing—feature comes in the form of the Cloudy Day mode, which limits sunlight and adds an extra layer of difficulty, turning even the routine task of planting defenses into a tactical exercise.
With Plants vs. Zombies widely considered as one of the best mobile games of the early smartphone era, its Replanted-branded remaster could be a big addition to the lineup of compelling tower defense titles on modern platforms. The modernized version of the game will pair its new features with a visual glow-up, as well as many classic mini-games, including Wall-Nut Bowling, Whack a Zombie, and Zombiequarium. Puzzles and bonus levels will also be part of the package, together with achievements and new speed settings.
Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted Coming to PC and Consoles on October 23
The October 23 release date applies to all versions of Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted. The remaster has so far been confirmed for PC and the latest two generations of Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles. Apart from PopCap Games, the Seattle-based studio that created the franchise, EA's Canadian subsidiary The Lost Pixels is credited as a co-developer of Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted. The upcoming remaster will be followed by a new Plants vs. Zombies graphic novel, scheduled for release in early March 2026.
